When it becomes evident that he won't help her, and Bowen locks Mariketa in an enchanted cave with five immortals, Mariketa uses her volatile powers (she blows things up 99 times out of 100) to make Bowen susceptible to injury and to hurt him as he's hurt her.

With the Hie at an end, Bowen and Mariketa still have a connection, the least of which is because she is remains trapped in the cave and is being tortured by incubi while Bowen finds himself dying from the injuries he can't regenerate from. Even more troubling, Bowen finds that for the first time in nearly two centuries he cannot stop thinking about a woman--and it's not his mate. When they're rejoined, Bowen becomes convinced that Mariketa has enthralled him to believe that she is his true mate. Since she won't admit it, and they have to find their way back to civilization within two days before the full moon forces him to claim her as her mate, They agree to try and make things work temporarily as they navigate their way back home.

In Wicked Deeds, Bowen MacRieve is the type of hero who a girl can't help but fall for. He's a sad, broken man who wants nothing more than to find the love that he feels he's lost. His focus and determination make you wish a man would feel even a fraction of that depth of emotion for you one day. Mariketa, on the other hand, is a naive, young witch who provides the perfect foil for Bowen's arrogance and immortality. The power that she achieves is only strengthened through loving him, and these two make one powerful and passionate couple.

Wicked Deeds on a Winter's Night was a long-awaited romance for me. I love Kresley Cole's Immortals After Dark series and feel that they need to come out every month, not just twice a year. Well this one was worth the wait. Cole is only getting better at building suspense, creating palpable passion, and developing three-dimensional characters. The fictional Lore in this paranormal series is some of the best world-building I've ever read, and the stories are unique and whole independently and as a series. Readers familiar with the story will recognize Bowen's cousin Lachlain and his mate Emma from A Hunger Like No Other, as well as other characters from the earlier books like Nix, Regin, and Sebastian Wroth (No Rest for the Wicked). For those new to the series, I'd recommend reading those books first, and for fans like me, I can say you won't be disappointed with the third book in the series. Now we only have to wait until March for the next book in the series, Dark Needs at Night's Edge....less

Get out the men in kilts and the bagpipes and put me on the next plane to Scotland! Bowen MacRieve—good god now there’s an alpha male! This book is even better than book 2—if that’s even possible!

Great book. Of the 3 I've been anticipating this fall (the other two were Ward's Lover Unbound and Singh's Caressed by Ice) this one was by far the best. I didn't like Cole's last Immortals book, but this one was at least as good as the first of the series.

It starts out a little before the end of the last book. Bowen and Mariketa are still competing in the Hie. She hits him with a mortality spell just before he traps her in a tomb. This sets the stage for the rest of the story in which ...more

I absolutely love this series, and I think they're my favourite paranormal romance books. They have everything I could want: fantasy, romance, action, adventure and humour. It's also one of the more original set-ups I've come across so far, and they're surprisingly low on cheese. They're very well written, tightly plotted and richly layered, the books are supurbly inter-woven, and the characters are great.

Kresley Cole does it again! This book was funny, enchanting, and action packed. It’s packed with highly unlikely, fantastic situations that only happen in novels. But Cole really sells it and I’m freakin' buyin' it! I'm in love with Bowen and Mari. Nucking Futs Nix is still the best. I can’t wait to see if she gets her story. The valkyries are wild and totally believable.

Book #4 in the Immortals After Dark Series and I loved it! Bowen (the werewolf that is mentioned in books #2 and #3 that lost his mate) finds his "true mate" in this one. A witch of all things. The sparks fly (literally) and this was a fun paranormal read.

The series should be read in order. In book #3 when they are at the tournament before it starts there is a witch there, covered up, and Bowen is attracted to her. Pay attention to this, it comes up later!

This book was the perfect book to take to Key West with me. Although it would have been nice to have my boyfriend with me after I read it. :) I love how these books have just enough sex without overdoing it and still having an intriguing enough plot to keep you going. Yes, the plot is centered around sex, but it works. The characters are interesting and of different paranormal species. I can't wait for the next two in the series.

Third installment of The Immortals After Dark series. Kresley Cole writes great paranormal romance and she did not disappoint here. You will fall in love with the tortured and guilt-ridden Bowen. Mariketa is strong without becoming one of those cliche stubborn heroines. I enjoyed this book through the end, and was even suprised by a few plot twists. I recommend this entire series.

I know this isn't the first in the series but I understood enough and really liked it. It was recommended and even though she said she'd send me the books I just couldn't wait. I'm impatient like that. ;)

I can't wait to see how these characters show up in other books because I know they will from reading this one. The discovery of Mari's powers isn't over by a long shot.

I liked this third installment in the series as much as the first one, even though there were hardly any vampires in it at all, probably because the heroine could really hold her own. Yes, there was a bit too much drama at times, but that fits with the genre.

This one was okay but I kept waiting and waiting for the hero and heroine to realise that they were meant to be together. They just agonized over it a little too long for me. Otherwise, the story was good but not as good as previous books by this author.

Latest in a series of paranomral romance. This time featuring Bowen, a bitter & ruthless lycan (ie werewolf) and Mari, a witch with fate resting on her shoulders.
Not a bad way to spend a few hours...

Jaci made me buy this book as a joke and it was a good read but a bit dirty. I dont mind sex scenes in books but the ones in this book were rather graphic for my taste. Still a good story.
