This is a cute story about a pig, Leon, who falls in love with a chicken, Albertine, and his journey to get her attention. In the end just being himself is what makes her notice him. The story includes movement actions that the children could imitate, emotions of how the characters felt and told Leon to act and the end a genuine friendship that was formed.
The unrequited love of a pig for a chicken, and a mud-bespattered happy ending. I especially like this book for its smart use of the odd long word: preoccupied, ceaselessly, indifferent. Great for kids 2 - 6.
