This author has built her life around being a mystery writer, but in my opinion she contributed more to the committees she's served on than to her craft. She's provided an unlikable main character who is constantly throwing up or shivering or having nightmares- usually over something ridiculous like snails being killed or chicken parts, but hardly turns a hair when people are hurt or murder is around the next obvious corner.
