Poem-Document of the sad series of rapes and pillages of the Dominican Republic. Last last 150 years? The USA. (USA! USA!- Go Team Go). Heart-breaking, beautiful - so much said in so few words. Like Aida had lived through all of it; and the more Latin American literature i read, the more i believe, perhaps she had.

Great material (content). But its rendering into verse is somehow forced and hackneyed (form). Or maybe its just the translation? Otherwise, a great educational tool about the national and gender oppression suffered by the Dominican women and people.
