The book I am read is the 4th book of Farley Drexel Hatcher a.k.a Fudge: Double Fudge. In Chapter one, Fudge ask Peter a question about Money and he becomes obsessed with money. Then one day, Fudge asks Shelia Tubbman: Peter's sworn enemy, how much money she got. It wasn't a polite thing to say and Shelia looked at Peter to think it was his fault for telling Fudge about money. When Fudge let out a cheer of Money, Uncle Feathers: Fudge's bird, repeats what Fudge said. I'm on Chapter

Double Fudge by Judy Blume was a surprisingly really great book I didn’t really know what the book was about because It’s name was ‘’Double Fudge’’, what’s that suppose to mean? Anyways ,I read the back cover and gave it a chance.
My favorite part about this book was when the Howie Hatchers came to visits and made the Hatchers angry and their apartment even smaller than what it seemed like. I also thought it was funny when Fudge and Mini-Farley got stuck in the elevator on Halloween. I was More...

Judy Blume is great and so is 'Double Fudge.' Being a very linear person, I had a little anachronistic adjustment to do here, as Peter Hatcher has grown from the nine-year-old he was in 'Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing' into a 12-year old. The confusion I felt with that is that 'Tales' was written in 1972 and 'Double' in 2002. Both contain period detail and ambience, and only familiar with 'Tales' and 'Otherwise Known as Sheila the Great,' I was ready for a 'Harriet the Spy'/'Mixed-Up Files o

Money, Money, Money $$$... "I love money, money, money!!!" is Fudge's new theme song. He's drawing money signs$ for breakfast, thumbing through catalogs at bedtime, and making enough "Fudge Bucks" so he can buy the whole world (or at least Toys "R" us). Fudge's latest obsession is driving his brother Peter insane! But life starts going coo-coo when Peter and his family meet their long-lost relatives, the Howie Hatchers of Honolulu, Hawaii. Not only does Peter have

Double Fudge, by Judy Blume, is a fun and satisfying book. It is a great quick read for many. Peter is the protagonist of this book, and the problem in this book is that Fudge is overly obsessed with money, and it causes him to make unnecessary moves such as asking grown-ups how much they make. Also, besides Fudge, Peter's family had a reunion with his cousins who he had never heard about before. The theme present in this book is family problems.

This book by Judy Blume brings back the return of Peter Hatcher and his little brother, Fudge. In this comical storyline, they come across distant cousins from Hawaii who unexpectedly encounter each other while on vacation in Washington, D.C to visit the Bureau of Printing and Engraving and fulfill Fudge's obsession with money. The Hatcher family ends up inviting themselves to stay in New York City with Peter's family, and ends up in a story full of slapstick antics with a cousin who acts almo

The fourth book in the Fudge & Peter series, this one came out something like 7 years after Fudge-a-Mania. Now being an adult when it came out, I wasn't exactly following the childrens' books news any more, so I had no idea it had come out until years later. When I saw it in a bookstore, I bought it along with Fudge-a-Mania right away because of my cherished memories of the reading the first two books in the series many years before when I was in grade school.

And I thought that I had the most annyoing brother ever. I didn't realize how wrong I was until I finished reading this book. My brother is nothing compared to Fudge and his mischief. But even though Fudge can really annoy Pete sometimes, I think that annoying Pete is kinda like Fudge's way of showing how much he loves his older brother.
My litte brother, Daniel, is really annoying and he's always like that unless he's watching T.V. My brother is nice... rarely and when he is he's usual More...

For Quarter II I picked to read Double Fudge. I am in chapter 11 of 16 and in page 128 of 213 and this book is ver y funny. So far, Fudge, the main character, is in love with money and he in oled money in everything like for example, he asked hin brother, Pete, how much does New York city cost. This was one of my favorite parts. Pete is actually the narrator. His best friend, Jimmy Fargo, moved to SoHo and is now far away from Pete. Mr. Fargo, Jimmy's dad, is an artist and thats why they moved t

Summary- Fudge gets in love with money, and makes fake money called "Fudge Bucks".
Character Trait- Fudge is funny and defencive. He is funny because he swallows a turtle and pretends that he is the bird chirping at night. He is defencive because he doesn't want his cousin, Farley to have the same nick name as Fudge does.
Most Inportant Part- I think the most inportant part is when they meet their long lost cousins.

It is about a young boy named Peter. He moved to new jersey for a year because his dad got a job and was going to write a book. His mother was thinking about going back to art collage. He makes a friend named Nathan and they make a buisness of worm selling but more like bait, except for this one house that puts it in her food and eats hem because they are nutricious. Fudge(Peters brother)gets a bird and it repetes everything and it is fudges very first bird. I realy like this book but I gave it

Another smasher from Judy Blume, this is the continuation of Superfudge and as good, if not more, as the last book. I just love Pete, his family and friends. When I read the book, somehow I feel as if I am living with them, and voyeuristically following their moves and adventures. I read this during a train journey and frightened my co-passengers by laughing out loud, and my husband and son were nonchalantly sitting with an ever tolerant expression on their faces. I do recommend this series for

I finally got to see what the buzz was about on the Fudge books, and, of course, they are great. I should have known this because my young friends who like them have good taste, and because Judy Blume has always been so great. It is wonderful that she's still writing contemporary stuff. This book is very funny. She has a great way of describing the fairly normal lives of fairly normal people in a way that is really authentic and seems to me to be true to children's lives and experiences. This is

1. My goal for this week was to read at least 25 pages on my new book.
2. This week I read 31 pgs. (1-31)
3. Fudge is a very funny, annoying, and realistic little kid. One moment he's somewhere the next he's in another.
4. My goal for next week is to try to get to page 75.

I gave this book 5 star because I wanted to keep reading it. At the beginning it was a little bit boring but as it got more in to the book it got better. My favorite part of the book was when mini (or the other Farley Drexel) let uncle feathers out of his cage. uncle feather is fudge’s bird he is a myna bird. Uncle feathers flew everywhere and you have to cover the windows because the bird likes the light from the outside. And the windows weren’t covered when he was let out of his cage and he ra

I really loved Judy Blume growing up. Right now I'm waiting for the 1st book of a series to arrive, but finished with others. So, I ventured into the girls' rooms looking for a fast, easy read. I decided on this. As an adult, she's still funny! I got a completely different perspective on the characters now that I'm a parent, and that was actually pretty insightful! It was fun to journey back for a night or two!

This book starts of with Fudge learning about money. Peter learns that the indians sold New York for 21 dollars and Fudge plans to save money and buy the whole world. Peter tells him to start small and buy like toysrus first. They visit D.c. and meet a lot of people while being pestered about money by Fudge.
The book is fun for all ages and makes you want to keep reading and not put down the book.

I laughed so hard. I had been in the same situation. Me and my dad and little sister (Mom stayed home with our little brother) went to the Field Museum up in Chicagio. We ran into cousins we hadn't seen since I was one. They eneded up coming down and staying with us for half a year. My cousins even ended up going to school with me at least once a week because they had cabin fever.

Any fan of Fudge knows that he never does anything halfway. And so it should come as no surprise that when he discovers the value of money, he goes whole hog-making his own "Fudge Bucks," dressing as a miser for Halloween, and thumbing through catalogs to choose his birthday presents years in advance. His older brother, Peter, who's just starting seventh grade, ...more

My kids did not like this book, even though it was supposed to be funny. I did not think it was so bad, exept the beginning was very choppy with no clear story line, it got better after the middle, but by that time my kids had abandoned it. The target market was also hard to figure out since this book is way too below 7th grader(Peter) or way beyond 5yr olds (Fudge).

Fudge is the life of the party and their is no dull moment without him around. Giving him a better understanding of how money works just doesnt seem to penetrate his reasoning for the love of it. But what the heck, Fudge is a kid and the adventures he and the family go through are endless. By the way, love the ending. Just wondering where he got those numbers of tooth from...

This book is about how Fudge is obsessed with money. He talks about money,he sings about money and wishes he had enough money to buy the world (or at least Toys R Us).
Reasons I like this book-
Reason 1- Fudge has a pet myna bird.
Reason 2- The story takes place in the New York City.
Reason 3- Certain parts of the story will make you laugh.

Aidan and I finished Double Fudge the other day...he loved it. He laughs the most at anything related to Uncle Feather and Tootsie's mispronunciations. I hadn't read this one as a kid, so it was fun to see another in the Fudge series. Next up? Going to the beginning with "Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing." Looking forward to that one.
