Lars Gustafsson lived in the US for over 20 years, quietly teaching philosophy at UT/Austin. I would call him the greatest under recognized poet we had during that time (since Milosz had already been "discovered"). His poems are sometimes brief lyrics, sometimes longer meditations or narratives; they always ring with clear primary tone, and multiple under-resonances of both feeling and intellect.
