Ugh. Questionable explanations of physiology, no real discussion of non-rote sparring and an overt amount of the text focused on history rather than practical concerns weakens the utility of this work. There are some useful observations scattered in that make the short read worthwhile, but overall, this title doesn't have a lot to offer anyone practicing martial arts for the purpose of fighting/combat sports (which is ironic given the authors focus on practicality).
