I think every young man should read this book! Older men too!

The problem of sexual addiction and bondage is at epidemic proportions in our society AND in the church.

This book addresses the problem in a comprehensive way. Ted Roberts says "I wrote this book for one purpose: to persuade the Church to become a place of hope and healing rather than of shame for those fighting sexual battles." (pg 255)

I hope more people will see just how serious this is before it is too late.

One of the best books I've read on understanding and treating addiction from a Christian perspective. The examples are drawn largely from his military experience, which gets somewhat repetitive, but overall this is a book I will highly recommend to people.

This was a really good book. It helped me a lot. Its good that its not just for men. Its for men, women, and its even meant for pastors who would like insights on how to counsel others through struggles. I will definitely read other books by Ted Roberts

When dealing with the issue of sexual addiction from a Christian perspective, this is the best book to help with gaining freedom from the issue. Also recommended is the ministry of Pure Desire which can be found at http://www.puredesire.org

This book discusses having a Christ vision and being accoutable to a small group will eliminate shame because of God's abundant Grace. This way of living will start a path towards pure desires.

This was a well thought-out and careful look at the thinking patterns that keep men from healthy lives. I reccommend it!

Good observations and examples. I liked the parable on pgs 33-36. Some Bible verses taken out of context, though.

“But I also knew this wasn’t about performance, or about getting it right before God would accept me. I was already accepted in Christ. And that changes everything!” 0 likes
“We can be trapped by our past and be unable to see what God has ahead for us when we don’t understand how to deal with trauma. We need to understand very clearly that God’s purposes for us are always greater than our problems. If we let Him, the Holy Spirit will come alongside and carry the problems that would bury us. But it all takes place through the bitter waters of healing.” 0 likes
