Giant Squids and I go way back. My mother loves to tell the story of "how frightened her daughter got when she saw on TV that a giant squid was attacking San Francisco". (To my credit, I was only in kindergarten and my Dad was in San Francisco that day representing a client in court. Plenty of reason to be upset.) So, I don't like them. The fact that their eyes can be as big as my head make me even more afraid of them. I read this book very quickly and don’t wish to ever read it again! Real pict ...more

Rumors of squids are as numerous as....well, the arms of this magnificent creature, and this tiny book for kids covers a lot of them, though, due to its small size, doesn't quite cover all. It's an intro into the mysteries of the deep and the mystery of the existence of giant squid, which I believe are true. That Jules Verne thing where a sub is attacked by a squid? Not as true, I don't think!
