Mr Creep and his family are bad people. They spend half of their lives in a secret hideout and the other half in jail.

Eventually, Mr Creep begins to grow tired of the life of crime and, little by little, he and his family start changing for the better. Except the dog. The dog remains a jerk.

Mr Creep the Crook is a very bad man and so were his children and wife. Mr Creep is always devising plans to get out of jail, get rich or get back in jail. A very funny book for young children that teaches them that although Mr Creep and his family are bad people change is possible. Towards the end of the story he devices his last and final plan: a plan for how to be good.

Reading this book made me feel very nostalgic, Allan Ahlberg’s Happy Families series were books I enjoyed reading in primary

Allan Ahlberg, one of the most acclaimed and successful authors of children's books - including the best-selling Jolly Postman series - says that he dreamed of becoming a writer since the age of twelve. But his route to that goal was somewhat circuitous.
