In the third installment of Kresley Cole's MacCarrick Brothers Trilogy, it's time for Ethan MacCarrick, the oldest of the brooding Highlanders, to take a wife. Scarred at the age of 23 for a youthful indiscretion, Ethan has forsaken women for the last few years while he carries on his duties as a spy for the Crown. Ethan knows that women find his visage appalling, and for that reason he has chosen to focus his attentions elsewhere. That is, until he spies a beautiful blond while he's out looking...more

Ethan MacCarrick--Scottish Highlander, rake, hardass--finds Madeleine Van Rowen--Paris slum living, rich husband seeking, fun pickpocket kind of girl--alluring and no one has allured him in years.
Ethan: oh what a rouge. This was my favorite of the three. Minimal curse talk, Ethan and Maddie were likable characters, and there was all sorts of good drama, especially in the last few chapters. Pretty darn good.

This is book #3 of 3 and was my favorite of the trilogy. Though this trilogy has Scottish men, this is set long after the Scots battled with England. It's more in the "western" time period. Ethan is the brother with the mean looking scare down one side of his face. He did not appear very likeable in books #1 and #2, but here his character really develops.

As the conclusion to the MacCarrick Brothers trilogy (now I'll have to read I and II) this book contains more than it's fair share of bonny wenches, Scottish brogues, horrible scars, handsome rakes, and cholera. In the end, though, it is very happily(and sex-ily--is it a word?)ever after, with several mini MacCarricks ("bairns") to boot!

Good Romance Read! I was thoroughly entertained. At first I thought the action was not so good, but Cole piles on the drama at the end. I knew she wouldn't leave me hanging!
I still the MacCarrick Brothers Triology is a victim of bad titles and even worse covers. But I can easily look past it. ;)

Frankly speaking, I was prepared to detest the destroy-and-revenge-plot. Nevertheless, I decided to go along with it since this is the last of the trilogy. Man oh man, never did I expected it to be soooo good. Please please get your hands on this book.

It was pretty much the same as the other two. Ethan was a total rear end, i was about to go inside the book and slap him upside the head! He was awful to Maddy and there was no reason for it! If you read this book you will understand my meaning.

For me, this is one of those books that just stays with you. I loved it, would love to give it more than five stars too... because I loved the first two books in this series (and gave them five stars) but this one blew them out of the water :

Yes this one was good. I like all of Kresley Cole's books. It was the third book in the Macarrick Brothers series. It is Ethan's story. I like it and it kept my interest.

This was the third in the series, and my favorite. The MacCarrick Brother series makes me want to move to Scotland!
