Zane's story, Mackenzie's Pleasure, had a little more meat (and heat!) to it than Chance's story, A Game Of Chance, so I rate MP a 4* and AGoC really a weak 3*. I wanted so much more in Chance's story, but really the beginning of MP was as much about Chance as about Zane, so I was really glad they were packaged together in this volume. Both stories had very strong heroines, which packed a stronger punch because in both cases the Mackenzie brothers expected spoiled, weak, whiny women.

But, for me,
Mackenzie's Pleasure:

Can I just say that I am amazed how well this story was written and understandable. I have read a lot of books where its containing of a family series and it's gets so beyond confusing if you hadn't read the previous ones. The prologue summed up everything perfectly and actually made me so happy for all the characters I haven't even got to know yet from their own books. I have also read plenty of books dealing with military and with all the jargon it becomes confusing. This
Mackenzie's Pleasure: Seal Zane Mackenzie rescues Barrie Lovejoy from terrorist group. Great Story!!!
A Game of Chance: Agent Chance Mackenzie rescues Sunny from her father. Excellent Story!!!

This book contains two stories, described below.

Nice story. I liked it. I plan to read most of Linda Howard's books. She is an excellent author. Although this was not one of her best, it was still worth reading. Story brief: Ambassador's daughter Barrie is kidnapped. Navy SEAL Zane rescues her. She falls in love with him. She continues to be in danger.

Sexual language: moderate. Number of sex scenes: seven or more. Setting: current day Libya and a few places in USA

Lots of action, true alpha males (yet sensitive, of course), and good fun.

Zane is a SEAL whose team goes in to rescue the daughter of an Ambassador who has been kidnapped. They have to hide for a day and end up making love so she can "get over" being molested (not raped). Also, she doesn't want to die a virgin, so tries to make up for lost time. First 2/3 of the book are that story, then he is wounded getting her away, her father basically kidnaps her home, and they are separated, until he psych
Two stories in one.

Zane rescues Barrie from the kidnapper her ambassador father couldn't protect her from. Falling in love and having a baby was just a bonus.

Chance plans a set up for a terrorist using his daughter for bait. Plans change when he falls for Sunny.
This is a 50-50 read for me. I liked Mackenzies's Pleasure but not A Game of Chance which are 2 previous books put together under the title of Mackenzie's Honor. The original in this series is a classic...but these are less than. I would suggest checking out Mackenzie's Pleasure through your local library or thrift store & pass or simply borrow the book A Game of Chance. Both are contemporary reads that are a wee bit dated in fact.
I loved this book for the fantasy aspects of it. While I appreciated the vigour of Zane and Chance - face it - this is not the reality.

Two in one romance thriller of two brothers (one adopted)who find their soulmates on the job, so to speak. Stories were fun, fast-paced, energetic, and the sex-scenes were "unbelievable". I know a lot of reviewers blasted Chance for the way he went about business but I think he can be forgiven. In real life we would not have been priven to Sunny's true dispositio

Need to read Mackenzie's Pleasure!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The Mackenzie's are a great series (Mackenzie's Mountain, Mackenzie's Mission, A Game of Chance, and the one about the only daughter Maria (?sp))
