As someone who has always liked meteorology and fantasy, this was right up my alley...and I enjoyed it.

I'm putting 'liked it' because I'm taking it for what it is - a 90s Scholastic children's paperback series book. I didn't expect anything out of it. I read this just to see what David Levithan was like before he was writing novels.

The idea was pretty unique for such a throw-away book. Some of the amateurish writing was a little silly: "The cloud walls churned, yet were somehow smooth. Like if you touched them, they'd be smooth." Oh dear.

I remember having read this many, many years ago when I was a kid. At that time I liked it - simple language, short, and with large print. If I read it now, my review might come out differently, but I guess this is meant to be read by children. Not a masterpiece by a long shot, but a fun read.
