SWEET BOUNDLESS picks up where THE ROSE LEGACY left off. With the town of Crystal now free from the evil that had held it captive, Carina DeGratia Shepard takes hold of the house that had once been promised to her. Though Quillian refuses to acknowledge their marriage, Carina refuses to let him go. With grit and determination, Carina creates for herself a small restaurant, bringing her Italian charm to a bustling town. Carina continues to learn more about Quillian's past, a past that has made hi...more
So, this is book #2 in a trilogy that I absolutely loved. I couldn't put it down and fell in love with the characters. I found myself thinking about them all the time! Carina is a hot blooded Italian and it is fun to watch her get into trouble. She is so full of fire and yet so fragile and broken at the same time. Quillans journey is a sad one in which I could never tell if I loved him or hated him...I couldn't believe the ending to this first book and rushed right out to get the second. I'd act...more
Each book in this series gets better and better. I absurdly love them. I love the fact that each of these characters is flawed in an utterly realistic way. That makes their journey towards healing that much more believable and gripping. The emotions in this book are so real, so perfectly portrayed. It's hard to not get caught up and unable to put the book down.
Once again, I'll say that each book is not a standalone story. While there is a plot arc - gradual build up, climax and denouement - the...more

I didn't know this was the second book in the series. I wish I had read the first one before this. I loved it so much. I'd highly recommend it. I just finished reading it and already miss Carina and Quillan and Alex and Mae. The characters were so well written. I love that! Kristen Heitzman is one of my favorite authors. If I had to say anything bad about the book, I'd say that I was confused about what brought Quillan and Carina together, but then I didn't read the first book. Had I read it, th...more
It was a great second book to the series. It left off where the first stopped. The way it was written you could feel the characters' emotions right along with them. It's a very moving book. I'm excited that it wasn't the end and I'm looking forward to reading the third.
Another headstrong female character from Kristen Heitzmann, also living in the beautiful Rocky Mountains. Will the elegant Carina manage to survive in the rough little town she is stranded in? Why is there so much mystery surrounding Quinn? Many parts of this story could be found in many books about trailblazers, but Heitzmann's writing style makes this unique. I really enjoy reading this series again and again.
Carina married the brogue from the first book, but it is in name only. He did it to save her life, and she agreed because she loves him. She is determined to convince him somehow, that he is in love with her as well. He has been hurt by many in his past and thinks there is no room in his heart for love. Quillan finally learn who his parents were:not the harlot and murderer he had been told all his life. He finally realizes the treasure he has in Carina and returns to her to find her in the hospi...more
not the book for everyone, as it's very light on the romance, but well-written and enjoyable.

Didn't like this any better than volumes 1 & 3.
I thought this book was great. I was able to jump right in to the story but it did take me a minute to remember the order of events from the last book. In this book Carina is a little less naieve which is refreshing and great to see her growth. I throuhgly enjoyed this book and can't wait to read the third.

Kristen learned to read at age four in the sit-on-the-floor school her father taught at home. That was the start of her love affair with stories. Skipping kindergarten, she went to first grade at five and dove into learning with a passion. In elementary school, she wrote and illustrated her own miniature books and the highlight of the week was the mile and a half walk to the book mobile.
