For my first attempt at educational statistics, this text enabled me to (mostly) wrap my mind around its complexities. I appreciated the chapter beginnings, which put the statistics in context, and the examples throughout were meaningful and helpful. I wish I had access to ALL the problems at the end of each chapter, though, so I could check my work more (I used them for practice). A reasonably good stat book, but it's clearly full of a lot of bloat to justify its heft and high price. Quite often, the author explains a concept adequately only to repeat himself and use ten-cent words which only confuse new statisticians.
