(This review is equally applicable to both Robot Dreams and Robot Visions, so I'm copying this review for both of them.)

In all honesty & fairness, I didn't read all of this book. Unfortunately I went into this book knowing it was a collection of short stories, but not realizing that only a fraction of them were actually part of the same fictional universe that Asimov's Robot Seri...more

This is a fantastic book of short stories by an icon in Science Fiction. Asimov poses questions like "can the universe be rebuilt once everything ceases to be?" Everyone has been there, a really great conversation that challenges the mind but ends on a debate about an unanswerable question. What if we had access to a machine or computer with so much knowledge that these questions would be answered for us. Would they still be unanswerable? Or would it just need more information? I'm giving this four stars because short stories were what Asimov did best, and for the incredibly anachronistic Bronx/Brooklyn accents that apparently will permeate every aspect of the futcha! Jesus Christ, could that get annoying. I can't remember which one it was, but there was one book where some woman was complainin' bout them robots, but in total moll fashion via 1930 something. Hysterical for the marvelously antequated presentation of how people back then thought the future would be.

I thought that this was a normal novel, but it wasn't until I was through 7 short stories that I said to myself... how in the world is this guy going to pull together these 7 different stories.

That kind've ruined it for me, I was expected a full developed storyline and plot, and I was dissapointed. I liked some of the stories, but I wish he would have stuck with my favorite and wrote a whole book on it...

If you like hard, deep science fiction and short stories, this book is excellent. The stories in this book concern many different aspects of science, from robots to aliens, but each one has its own surprising twist. Asimov writes in a simple but believable manner. Because of the author's scientific background, each story seems like it has substance, and you forget it is fiction.

I really enjoyed reading this collection of short stories from one of my favorite authors of all time... I especially loved the story about the man who creates a radio in such a high pitch that he can hear plants screaming as they're trimmed, stepped on, etc. Every story was pleasantly disturbing and entertaining!

This book of short stories by Asimov is possibly the best I've ever read, considering that I'm not a big short stories fan. People have stolen it twice from me! Anyway, my all-time favorite is "the last question", which, most certainly, got me in awe and really made me think.

I am a filthy, filthy rotten liar. I never read this book, and I'm too lazy to figure out how to delete it. If you are reading this expecting a hearty review, I'm sorry to disappoint. Shame on me. Shame.

What can I say? I'm just a sci-fi nerd at heart... Easily digestible short stories.

It seems like Asimov is from where Stephen King and Twilight Zone got their ideas, maybe...

Robot Dreams is a great read. I took with me to Africa and had a wonderful time escaping reality at night with these stories. Very frightening at times. Others are a marvel.

Great short stories by Asimov, however many stories don't involve robots or dreaming.
