When I read poetry, especially Renaissance poetry, in translation, I just know that I'm missing so many delightful bits of wordplay and the oral rhythm of the original that I never fully enjoy it. That was definitely the case here - Poliziano's Stanze are lovely, but none of them have really stayed with me.
