From this book,I learned many new and useful meditation techniques. I am now calmer, more in tune, and able to do spell work better. I have also learned to recognize and defend against psychic attacks. And I'm still learning more. So much great stuff in here. I HIGHLY recommend it!
This one is not only very clear and well written, it's the best on the subject I've read so far.
This book contains information on Witchcraft, meditation, psychic development, psychic defense, auras/energy bodies (including how to strengthen your aura), Spirit Guides, Numerology, karma, spiritual development, chakras, building your personal connection with the Divine, herbal remedies and tinctures. Actual PRACTICAL techniques and useful information. It is NOT a wikipedia article on the history of the religion, although it does contain one of the most well writen explanations of the Rede and...more
I don't know who did the final edit but the page numbers are all over the place and the top half of each page is blank and the font is much smaller than the book size would suggest with triple spaced lines. Many pages are blank and all the illustrations were somehow mangled in the proof. The content depth of the book paled in comparison to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wicca. It does have a nice glossary of other books to read on this topic. Maybe the next edition will at least format the page...more
Being a Wiccan now for 11 plus years, I was blown away that someone had actually written a book with real knowledge in it. So many books lately have been full of useless filler and crap that I think the public has come to accept that as what Wicca really is! This was written by someone who sounds like he has actually been practicing for years and decided to share his knowledge, not just some gimmick! Holy crap! You REALLY should check this out!
I was actually very surprised by the depth of this book. I would have to say the writing is what makes it such a good read. It's much more interesting than a lot of the stuff that Llewellyn puts out there. The information is very in-depth, but presented in a way that is easy for the reader to understand, and there's no ego or talking down to the reader. Very nice!
This is a great book for practical, useful exercises & techniques. It does not state that Wicca is "an ancient religion", but does rightfully point out that it's based on ancient beliefs. It has meditations, visualizations, basic techniques & tips for spells, psychic defense, herbal info, an introduction to the aura/energy bodies, chakras, astral travel, spirit guides, Wiccan holidays and an explanation of the Wiccan Rede, just to name a few things. The version I found on Kindle for 2....more
Unusual subject probably aimed at those who know little of metaphysics. I did learn some interesting facts though.
Definitely recommend this book for newcomers. James Aten is right up there with Cunningham.
Very poorly researched, and full of misinformation, definitely not the "truth" about Wicca.
This book is nicely put together, great insight by the author & I do recommend it.
This book is outstanding...I love all the esoteric/occult info.
Very clever..access to much deeper wisdom than a typical Wicca book.
This book is well researched and very useful
I would recommend this for anybody
i would recommend this book for beginners (along with Cunningham's "Wicca") and more advanced practitioners alike but i really expect someone to improve the layout. Although you shouldn't judge a book by its cover, this text deserves to be presented in a more appealing way. It almost resembles a student paper, but if someone would hand in one designed like this at my school they'd surely lose some points... =)
