Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes is a book for very young children concerning the popular nursery rhyme. While helping children's rhythm, it also serves as a learning tool for children to learn various body parts. The illustrations are fitting, showing various babies following along the action.
We're big fans of this song at our house, so we were very happy to find this book. Gavin giggles when I touch his head, shoulders, knees, and toes and he also seems to enjoy looking at the illustrations. He's too little to really be learning the names of the body parts, but that will come in time and I'm sure we'll be singing this song for a long, long time.

The classic action rhyme in a board book with the tune on the back! It illustrates babies doing the movements and babies love to see other babies.

This collection of books from Child's Play is so much fun. These are exactly what we are looking for right now to play with and enrich AppleBlossom. We started in Babygarten reading some activity books with numbers and colors and singing nursery rhymes. Now at home we're trying to incorporate that into our every day play. These board books are perfect for that. I love how they are musical and have the notes available if you want to play along (oh how I miss the piano!). In an effort to find mo...more
This is one of my daughters favorites...and has been since was probably a year old. We hadn't read this one in awhile but she thoroughly enjoyed it again when I read it last night. In fact, we sang/read it three times. :)
Literacy skills:
Phonological sensitivity-uses the traditional song and adds pictures to the it. The music is on the back of the book, parents can sing the song to toddlers and they will also learn body parts.

Lovely little book to introduce this song to a baby.
I heard this was a great board book and kept seeing it at play group, but Natalie never picked it up. When she finally did, I thought it was a nice illustration of the song. Cute babies and the words are spread out well. Natalie has always been a fan of this song so it was hard to go wrong.
