I loved reading about Jules getting his happy ending. He's such a fantastic character and I've enjoyed reading his role in the many Troubleshooters books. Robin grew on me after disliking him completely in "Hot Target." So this was a fun book to read. Lots of guest appearances from past characters and some great general comedy - I loved the breaking out of the bathroom scene. And I applaud Brockmann for taking a chance on such a controversial subject matter for the book.

What I could have done wi...more

Suzanne Brockmann is pissed off. She is really hungry cause she has a gay son and she wants that her son can have a normal life and marry the man he loves. And from what I understand, in USA some party wing has put in stand by a law that recognize same sex marriage in Massachussetts. So when her publisher has asked her to write a Christmas novel (usually a tale of good feeling and we all love each other genre) she has written All Through the Night, where her gay characters, Jules and Robin, will...more

ALL THROUGH THE NIGHT is, by far, my all-time favorite book in the SEAL Team Sixteen/Troubleshooters, Inc. series!

I've loved Jules Cassidy ever since he was first introduced in THE DEFIANT HERO, and I'm so, so glad that Suzanne Brockmann gave him the happy ending that he deserves.

Although I had doubts about Robin Chadwick when he first appeared a few books ago, I have to say that the love these two men share for each other is such a wondrous, joyous thing that I can no longer complain.

If you lo...more

All Through the Night - Suzanne Brockmann. This is the story I've been waiting to hear from Brockmann, it's not her fault, I'm late to the series and just got to this book.

Jules Cassidy gets married to his true love, Robin Chadwick. As I've stated before, Jules is my favorite character in the whole Troubleshooters series of books. However, you may notice that it has gotten almost the lowest of all the scores for books in this series. Brockmann gave in to pressure from her publisher to produce a...more

I'm a huge fan of Ms. Brockmann's Troubleshooters Series and have been looking forward to Jules and Robin's story, but this one didn't work so well for me. I liked it and thought the author did a good job but...I don't think it will be one that I will reread like I do with most of her other books.

Two major problems; inconsistencies (which I'll get to in a bit) and a feeling that this book just doesn't fit with the series. Ms. Brockmann writes in the author's note at the end of the book that Robi...more

I originally rated this book a 5 as I love Jules so much and was glad he got his happy ending (Robin even grew on me over the course of time). Yes, the story was packed full of sappy moments and there wasn't a lot of action compared to the previous novels, but that is exactly what I would expect from a book that is meant more as a supplement to a series - or at least that is how I view the random "Christmas story" editions that series authors do sometimes. As I tend to get attached to characters...more

I was originally going to give this installment of the Troubleshooters series only 2 stars. I mean, I could feel my cavities growing the entire time I was reading it -- sugar and honey everywhere, good Lord, the whole thing was waaaaay too saccharine for words. But then I got to the Author's Notes.

You see, Suzanne Brockmann is an unabashedly, unashamedly, and unquiet Liberal with a Capitol L. And she has a gay son. And she writes great author's notes.

This book, All Through the Night, is all ab...more

This was extremely quick reading and enjoyable story but it felt shoe-horned into the series for me. I applaud Ms. Brockmann utilizing Jules and Robin to publicly support her son-I just disagree with this series as being the vehicle. Because they were peripheral characters that didn't really add to the suspense/thriller portion of the story or of the team that this story is part of. So it was a gay romance story of previously tertiary characters that did nothing to further the arc and legend of...more

I've only read two of Suzanne Brockmann novels. I read Hot Target and liked it, but I liked this one more. Maybe it is because I read about two characters who have developed a deep loving relationship for one another. I didn't really care that I was reading about two men who loved one another because it was done tastefully. Nowhere in the plot do you see any line about either of their penis sizes or their throbbing members and how many romance/suspense novels can you say that about?! Heck, even...more

Man, this book was so much fun to read!! It is rare that I can find a book that has me laughing while reading and then a few pages later in tears because the story turned on a dime.

While I am not a big m/m fan, I have been waiting for this happy ending. Jules and Robin have slowly become favorite characters within this series for me, to the point where when they have been in a book I was much more interested in their story and not the main couple.

What made this book so much fun was the odd combi...more

One of the weaker in the series. I have to say, loved the story of Robin and Jules, and that was well written, but it seems like other aspects of the story were neglected and the focus was put on the Robin and Jules storyline. It's a story written like any of the other romances except for this is a gay couple. This had to be hard to write, but I found that it was beautifully done. Not over the top, and just like any other romance. I liked that about this story.

The action/mystery aspect of the s...more

OMFG, people. OMFG.

This is total curtains!fic, if a real, published work can be considered fic... Which, I think it can because fic just stands for fiction, right? Anyway, not the point. The point is that this is the softest, squishiest bit of fluff to ever fluff. It's all love and romance and happily ever after with a tiny serving of suspense and a dash of blood on the side. Because it is a Troubleshooters book, after all.

AND I LOVED EVERY SECOND.

Even the het couple, Dloph and Will. They were...more

Well I have to say this book was not my fav. I love the characters and Robin has emerged as maybe my favorite of the whole series because his story came on strong and fast but I found this book to be a little corny at times. Just some of the events that happened one including Robin getting stuck in a wall...love at first sight between Dolphina and Will was a little weak...and just some of the far fetched crazy things happening, I felt took away from the amazing wedding story.

Ok, maybe Robin redeemed himself in this book. I felt a bit like Sam, being protective of Jules and having Robin prove that he really was good for him. Sober Robin was actually a pretty great guy. I liked that his book still had some drama while being a bit on the lighter side. Seeing Jules and Robin happy together was pretty fun. I will say though that it took me way too long to realize that Will was the red headed reporter from the previous books. I don't know why I didn't put it together quic...more

...more

I normally don't write reviews, but I liked this book so much that I had to write something!
As always in Suzanne Brockmann's books there is a lot of emotions going around, and in this one they were so intense that I just couldn't put the book down! It contains very little action compared to the other books, the Adam's stalker-part is more of a subplot, and while I noticed the lack of action while reading it didn't bother me because I was so buzy noticing everything else that happened.
As a normal...more

So often the gay characters have a tragic ending...which is one of the reasons why this book is so wonderful. Jules and Robin get their happy ending, an ending they both deserve. And although there is angst, it's not unnecessary angst and during it, their love and commitment to each other is unwavering. I loved it. And as friend and family of LGBT folks, the author's cause is near and dear to my heart. As a citizen of California, I was and still am ashamed of the bigotry preventing loving, same...more

Oh my, oh my, oh my! I am totally crushing on this author! I LOVE this book, I'm about halfway through and I knew I was going to like it from the first paragraph. I had no idea how MUCH I was going to like it! The real question is *why* am I crushing so hard?

Excellent characters! Really well-written, well developed, people that I like. The whole ball of wax. Adding a wonderful spice to this good base is the fact that the story takes place in Boston, in locations where I've been. This is the 12th...more

The story of Jules and Robin's wedding. This book was just great. Besides being incredibly well done, how often do two gay men get to headline their own mainstream romance?

Brockmann has been very clear that she doesn't generally write about her characters' weddings because they are just normal weddings, and that's not the makings of a good story. But this time that's the point of the book: two men getting married because they love each other is just as normal as a man and a woman getting married...more

Suzanne is all about love in its purest form... meaning with all the flaws a human has, the baggage, the issues. This is #12 in her series of which I have only read maybe half. Each book revisits older characters while introducing the new. These are best read in order or you will end up where I am right now - enjoying the story but confused over all the "friends"!
I enjoy her books enough however to continue reading because she is able to touch me emotionally. This story is about an FBI agent Jul...more

Well, this is a good read. Jules and Robin are cute and so totally in love! Sometimes it was too sweet, but it was balanced by the fact that both heroes are deeply flawed and have "risky" careers: Jules is a FBI agent(who has special missions in war thorn Afghanistan and other troubled places in the world) and Robin is a Hollywood actor who is always on the news/gossip pages and occasionally does steamy sex scenes.

Now regarding characters development, I liked Cowboy Sam (a secondary character) b...more

I read this once before back when it was first released in 2007. I always loved Jules character and I'm thrilled that Brockmann wrote this story of trust, love, and commitment for these characters.

I re-read this book for the Goodreads 2011 April Monthly Challenge Find a Rainbow Day: Read an LGBT book, a book with at least 3 of the 7 colours of a rainbow on it's cover, or a book with a title that includes the word: dream/s, wish/es, or rainbow.

This book is SO much more than an LGBT book which i...more

Ms. Brockmann's personal agenda permeates the story. Her son is gay, and she is very active in organizations trying to end discrimination against gays. This is a position I support, but I'd just as soon not have it hammered it at me in a romance novel. A lot of the dialogue borders on TMI. I did enjoy getting to see a few of the TSI and SEAL's lives, and how they have changed with marriages and babies. In my opinion, we seem to have veered way off course to what this series was advertised as. I...more

All Through The Night is a book that takes place around Christmastime, in Boston, Massachusets. Where FBI agent Jules Cassidy becomes engaged to Robin Chadwick, the love of his life. Their plan for their wedding is a small ceremony with just family and close friends, with Sam Starret and his wife Alyssa. But then they receive the news that the President will be attending the wedding, and they have to move it from small and intimate to a large fiasco. But during their engagement, there are other...more

You'd think i'd pick a better picture of Jules and Robin on their wedding day because well, i've waited countless books to get to this point for them. Just picture them starding up to all those against this marriage, Jules style.

What too away from All Through the Night is that we get to know Robin very well. I did struggle with the first part of the book because I felt it was a little rushed, time just jumped forward and I was being greedy. I wanted more Robin & Jules getting to know each ot...more

I wasn't sure what to think when my mother pulled this one off the library audio book shelf. We both listened to the audio book while running errands and such. The two main characters, Jules and Robin, were very well written. The exchanges between the two were very realistic. While some people may be uncomfortable with characters being involved in an openly gay relationship, the storyline didn't focus on just their relationship. The mystery plot was intertwined with relationships of other couple...more

This is Jules getting his happy ending with Robin. Not everything is roses and champagne after Robin's coming out very publicly, in the last book of Brockmann's series by kissing Jules on national tv after the harrowing kidnapping situation. This is Jules and Robin living together, making a life together tv series and international terrorists aside. This ends with Jules and Robin happy, married and riding in a limo into the sunset. Just one tiny, tiny question...why so many pregnant women? It ki...more

“Sam found a chair under Robin’s butt and evicted him from it, bringing it over to his pregnant wife.“Sorry, I wasn’t thinking,” Robin apologized.
“Thanks,” Alyssa said to Robin as she sat down, even as she gave Sam a darkly amused look.
“What?” he said. “I was just helping him think.”
