The words came from his mouth, "Don't say anything about this to your mum. She won't believe you." At the age of 11, a beautiful happy girl found herself thrust into a nightmare of abuse and violation that ripped her world apart. It is hard to be critical of such a personal story which recounts details of the sexual abuse she suffered so frequently during so many years of her childhood. The sheer strength and courage needed in order to share such a harrowing experience is a testament to the mother and woman she has become despite what she went through. My only hope is by doing so it will potentially give strength to anyone reading who can relate to her situation.....or will it? Despite the respect, sympathy and admiratio ...more

You know when you buy a book like this what its about; but I wasn't prepared for how well written it would be and just how heartfelt. Sarah is one courageous, brave strong woman to finally be able to share this highly personal account of her abusive childhood between three men she should have been able to trust.

How her Mother was oblivious of her suffering, her father the one person who should be there to protect her took advantage and abused her too and worse still knew and let another man cont

It is heartbreaking to read any story of abuse, but this girl had to be betrayed by 3 men in her life including her own father. That was haunting, and it makes you realise how strong she is to have gotten past that, and had her own family. This book was well written and right from the start you understand how much of an impact this abuse had on her then as well as now. I hope this book, as she says, encourages other people to stand up and say no more to any abuse that is happening to them, and t ...more

This was a brilliant read and couldn't put it down. Sarah is strong with everything that went on in her life. It goes to think what make it tick for adults to do such a thing to the children. I am just grateful that I had a fantastic childhood.

Sarah isn't a writer so it would be unfair to critique the narrative. However this is apparent within the text which tends to be repetitive and the over-use of adjectives.

But good on her for putting her story out there, maybe doing so was cathartic but if it helps one person it's done its job.

OMG! That poor girl! It's horrible to think that's what life is like for some kids. Thank goodness Sarah had the strength to go on and tell her story.

Such a strong young girl Sarah was, I admire her strength and wish Sarah all the happiness she has found in this cruel world to continue to outweigh her horrific childhood memories
