The library needs a new mural and the students in the class decide they will do one as a class project. Jessica starts off the story with yet another lie and it ends up causing a lot of trouble for her, yet in the end has an unexpected benefit

Elizabeth is assigned to work with Sophia and Sarah and it's not long at all before she finds out that the two girls seem to absolutely hate each other. They even end up damaging a schoolroom. Sarah's mother is dead and Sophia's father is also not there. T

This is a story about two girls who get stuck in a art project together, with Elizabeth Wakefield, and the more they talk and work on it, the more they hate each other.
When Sophia Rizzo and Sarah Thomas get in a paint fight, they accidentally hit the teacher. They get sent to the principal's office with their parents, and Sarah's dad takes them all out for dinner when they've finished. The more they see each other, the more Sarah's dad likes Sophia's mom. They start going out a lot, and the tw
Imagine being sisters with your worst enemy. This is how Sophia Rizzo and Sarah Thomas felt. You see, Sophia's mom is dating Sarah's dad, and worst of all, they plan to marry! It has a predictable ending but at least you got a reprieve from all the very twin-centric storylines.

Very soap opera (take a glance at the book blurb) but that's the fun in reading books from the 80's.

Title: Sarah's Dad and Sophia's Mom
Perhaps I'm giving these books too much credit, but often enough, I detect this deliciously satirical meta-level in characters' (day)dreams - especially in the case of Jessica - which I haven't seen done as well in any other young adult literature. Reminds me of a soap opera that breaks the fourth wall.

Terrific fun! The title kind of says it all, and the cover image certainly sets the tone ;) Though neither of them are main characters, and neither I cared much for separately, I did enjoy this book a lot.
