OH. DEAR. GOD. I never had any strong desire to see Graceland until I snagged this doozy from the pop-culture shelves. You know those glittery white jumpsuits Levis used to wear? Those look tasteful and subdued compared to Elvis's dear old home. The pop-up recreations of rooms add a garish third dimension to a place where bad taste was raised on a pedestal and celebrated. Oh good, now I think I want to go to Graceland for real. * Shudder *

So I found the perfect gift for goose! For those who don't know, she is quite possibly one of Elvis' biggest fans. On a five week cross country trip in the Bounder (rv) she outfitted the entire music collection with the discography of the king. We could transcribe EVERY song on demand to this day. Well when we made it to Memphis we did the extended tour of Graceland. While Goose wandered, you could see her designing her place in heaven to match this homage to the hip gyrator.

A pop-up book for adults, what's not to love? It's definitely a conversation piece if you leave it on the coffee table. I had an Elvis phase in middle school and this reminds me of the family trip to Graceland. Good times, good book.

Not quite as good as Matt Reinhart's creations but very good anyway. The TV that changes screens and the wearable sunglasses are nice features of this book. Overall a good laugh.
