After reading his latest book - Warning Signs - and loving it, I was thrilled to learn that it was his 10th book and I had 9 others just waiting for me! I thought that Private Practices was the first one but it turned out to be #2. No matter, it was great. Boulder psychologist Alan Gregory seems to be attracting crime, his offices are broken into, a patient of his partners is shot and killed, one of his own patients is suicidal with a gun and now someone is after Alan himself. I really like all the Stephen White mysteries. I have listed some of them here. As soon as I hear a new one is published, I read it. Because one of my degrees is in counseling, I love that Alan Gregory is a clincial psychologist. He lives in Boulder where I also briefly lived. He weaves information about Boulder and other locations in Colorado throughout his plots. I avidly read each of his books because I find them to be very intelligent and interestingly plotted mysteries.

I was really impressed by how this mystery grabbed me from the beginning. It was so much more interesting than the first book in the series. There were no extraneous characters and every scene had a place. Really enjoyed this and glad I decided to pick it up after not being impressed with the first book.

I'll just write this one reveiew for all of the Alan Gregory novels. I mainly like them because like the main character I am a psychotherapist as well. At the same time after reading so many of his books the stories become a little too predictable. This however will not stop me from continuing with the series.

This second book in the Alan Gregory series by Stephen White is far better than the first. So much so that I will continue to read this series despite my disappointment in the first book.

Quick, easy thriller about a psychologist living in Colorado. All his patients tend to die. One of his more recent books, Kill Me, was far superior, but still a good intro to the series.

This is the second book in the Dr. Alan Gregory series. I really like this book just like the first one. I will be getting the next book in the series tonight at the library.

Another great read. I love this series and this author. It was gripping and drew me deep into its world. I couldn't put it down till it was done.

OK.... It is time for me to give Stephen White a break. All of his books are starting to be the same. Private Practices was good but not great.
