5 stars from my 6 year old son. He received this book as a Christmas present from his teacher. Even though we skipped directly to book 5 in the series, we found it engaging for his age level.

This book was a fun read because how relatable the story was. The sibling rivalry, the bully and the fear of not thinking you are good at something has a place that everyone can relate to. I also loved that the bully in the story was given kindness by Freddy and in the end was just sad that he didn’t have anyone coming to see his talent. Good for EP classes. This is set in a grade 1 room, the students are having a talent show. Probably better used in ESL with older students who already know the past tense well. A good platform for actually running a talent show once the book has been read. :-)

The class is having a talent show! Freddy is scared because he thinks he doesn't have a talent. His grandpa helped him with a magic trick.
