A short book, that I picked up in Uris to improve my understanding of Mexico's liquidity issues. Kessler did a reasonable job of explaining the modern history of Mexico's choices in economic policy in terms of both the political and economic pressures. While many books only focus on capital flows and poor debt lending, Kessler offers a fully picture of the systemic flaws, where the system likely broke down, what they tried to do fix it, and what trouble such a fix caused.
