This book chronicles the work of Jesus through the eyes of his fictitious and beloved pet. It seems like a sacrilege at first glance, but is a beautifully written simplified version of the gospels. Deffenbaugh, a priest in youth ministry, makes you feel like you are there with Jesus, his mother, and his close friends.

This lovely little book invites the reader to travel the gospel stories with a little stray dog named PupPup. With PupPup, you too can see Lazarus rise from the dead, be at the Last Supper, or see the Lord's glorious resurrection. And be sure to bring your kids along for the journey!

I enjoyed this book despite my initial
Wariness. It was simple and personable bringing into view a very human yet divine Jesus. The story is not new but the paraphrasing of the gospels linked with PupPups relationship with Jesus made it more earthy and touchable - while it is primarily written for a younger audience it is for all who are young at heart.
