This is the first of two collections of Robert E. Howard's correspondences put together by the late great Glenn Lord.

For those who want to know more about Robert E. Howard as a person, his letters are indispensible. You'll find Howard with all his warts here, but also see the incredible intellect and imagination of the man. I've read through many of these lettes mutliple times.

Robert Ervin Howard was an American pulp writer of fantasy, horror, historical adventure, boxing, western, and detective fiction. Howard wrote "over three-hundred stories and seven-hundred poems of raw power and unbridled emotion" and is especially noted for his memorable depictions of "a sombre universe of swashbuckling adventure and darkling horror."
