While based on a sound concept- introducing several basic characters and radicals as semantic elements and then employing them as mnemonics to facilitate effective retention of the 2,136 jouyou Kanji, I found this book lacking in reinforcing techniques.
The general philosophy with Kanji, like in any other facet of language learning, is use it or lose it. Usage of such mental images as 'floating spirit = infidelity「浮気」' notwithstanding, characters will quickly fade from memory if not read in conte
