The original of this book is incomplete, and only about a third of it is translated in this abridged version. Alexander goes all over the world with his army, befriending kings if they promise him obedience and convert to Islam and overthrowing them if they don't. It starts out with some resemblance to history: Alexander inherits the kingdom of Rūm, then conquers Īrān and goes on to India. But before you know it, he's fighting against fairies and giants.
