This was a hidden pearl on my bookshelf and when I took it up I had no expectations whatsoever - and let me say it reeled me in right away. It was the very witty note to the readers at the beginning about legends and myths and their narrative voice in the beginning that did it really. (I was in the right mood for this kind of witty to. I think that was important for my enjoyment and thus should be mentioned.)

Basically this is the story of an Irish family making their lives in New York - starting
I read this when I was in high school and really enjoyed it. Just a good story.
