I read the first half of the book then skimmed the rest. It was a predictable sleezy romance novel, plain and simple. The thing that bothered me most was the fact that Cal was not even LIKABLE. He was a self centered jerk who showed no true care to Libby's feelings but only to his own desires, and that just sickened me. I'm reading this and thinking, "Okay, so I have this male character who is-of course-oooh so handsome (as is his brother, OF course...so shallow and not realistic but anyhow) and...more

I made a deal with a friend this summer.
This friend read a good amount of romance novels, and much to my chagrin I forgot myself and said something offhandedly disparaging- which was promptly answered with 'Have you ever read one?'
To which I had to say 'No.'
So she suggested that I do so, and then tell her what I thought.
And. Um... I found this one at the library book sale and paid fifty cents for it. And I thought... hmm, time travel, could be good...
Read it pencil in hand, marking it up like a...more

I began reading this book around the same time I began reading Nora Roberts Going Home. I only started reading this because Going Home was such a great book. Going Home is still my favorite book by Nora Roberts but this one isn't far behind. It has time traveling and love all in one! The thing I like about some of her books is that it is either different books in 1 with the same story line or two books that connect but are different. Time and Again is two books that connect but are different. On...more

This was two books in one. Both stories were related just two new characters that are related to the characters in the first story. These stories are about time travel. The first story is about a man who is from the future who flies into a black hole that sends him crashing a couple of hundred years into the past. He crashes on a mountain where there happens to be a beautiful woman that nurses him back to good health and then they get involved. He knows he has to tell her that he is from the fut...more

Science fiction romance? Sounded good to me but oh I was so annoyed that the time travel aspect wasn't explored more. Surely two people moving through time would have made some impact on history? Why didn't any character Google or use other websites to see what had happened in the past - especially as the parents of the two women ended up being so famous? The one thing that really really annoyed me was that MacDs still exists hundreds of years in the future (still using the yellow arched M) and...more

Although I rarely read romance novels, I have to admit a soft spot in my heart for Nora Roberts. I got this book from someone at work who was done with it and was surprised that I hadn’t seen it before, given that it was originally published 10 years ago.

The book actually contains two interrelated stories, about a pair of brothers that meets a pair of sisters. Not too original, I know, but the time travel angle adds a fun twist to the stories. The second story was a bit weaker, but I liked the b...more

Time Was
Once when there were only a handful of time travel books they were primarily thought of as science fiction titles with somewhat complicated theories on how time travel was possible. Authors included names like Madeline L'Engle, Alan Brennert, Jack Finney and the gradaddy of them all H.G. Wells. In the last number of years, though, many romance writers and other authors have also enjoyed dabbling in this genre. Today Nora Roberts writing under the pseudonym JD Robb is also well known for...more

I thought this was going to be corny, but I thought I'd try it anyways. I was pleasantly suprised when it was not only well written, but believable, it's amazing in it's detail! I really enjoyed the time travel aspect in both stories. Basicly a man from the future accidently comes in contact with an uncharted worm hole in space it gets whipped back into our time. Crashes in the mountains where a woman who is living at a cabin up there finds him, nurses him back to health. They fall in love. He d...more

It's kind of a silly one for Nora -- it's two time-travel stories in one book (no, I'm not kidding). First one pilot crashes his "spaceship" into current Oregon (or maybe Washington state, I can't remember), and then his brother comes looking for him. It's totally unbelievable and far-fetched, but entertaining as well. The hippie-granola parents and their current day inventions that have become hugely popular and wildly successful in the future are another amusing aspect of these stories.

He was stranded in the present, but time traveler Caleb Hornblower's biggest predicament wasn't returning to the 23rd century . . . It was leaving behind beguilingly innocent Liberty Stone, who'd shown him a love more powerful than Time Was.

Cynical Jacob Hornblower had followed his brother, Caleb, into the past, hoping to lure him back. But once captivated by Liberty's spitfire sister, Sunny, he discovered that even for a romance-resistant man of the future, Times Change.

Different! I actually liked the dry humour, and just thinking what it would be like to travel back in time. Felt ending of Time change was so quick. Would have liked JT and Sunny to have gone back at xmastime as the epilogue, and had seen the fathers reaction to time travel actually happening! and did anyone work out where the honeymoon was?? I kept thinking was going to say Oregon but nope just got hints lol

It was a okay book, not one of my favs though

i wish i could go back in time to take back the hours i wasted on this book and try to revive my brain cells,it was a great dissappointment, less than mediocre the characters undistinguished, and why was it tagged as sci-fi is still a mystery to me. but wait the horror continues there's a sequel or should i say a "spin off" of this book, why would someone expect anyone to read "two" stories that are practically the same is beyond me.

What I like about Nora Roberts' books are her characters. However, in Time and Again she didn't develop the characters at all. The only thing I know about Caleb and Liberty (after about 200 pages) is that they had tremendous physical attraction for each other that they both were convinced was powerful love after 48 hours of meeting each other. This book was a huge disappointment and I couldn't finish it.

This book is absolutely adorable and so much fun to read! I honestly don't remember what made me want to pick this book up, but I'm really glad that I did. This is the first time that I've read something by Nora Roberts, and I really enjoyed her writing style. Time and Again is very romantic and sooo cute... can you describe a book as cute? LOL I don't know if that's a very intelligent thing to say, but that's what it was! Love it!

I would've given it 4 stars if I were just rating the first book (Time Was). I really liked this one and was touched by the characters. On the other hand, I would've given the second book (Times Change)2 stars; which brings an average of 3 stars. I never really warmed up to the characters from the second book and thought the way they fell in love was unrealistic and superficial. The part I liked most in the second book was when Libby and Cal made an appearance towards the end.
I also didn't care...more

As usual with Nora Roberts books it´s well written and sweet. The first one was a bit bittersweet towards the ending but it´s nice to know that the story ends in harmony and love.

The first two, Cal and Libby were more hesitant in their approaching love but the second two, JT and Sunny, were more straight forward. And the second one had the ending I longed fore. So in between the two stories the book harmony and equilibrium reined.

i actually loved this book even though nora roberts books are really graphic haha. wow. it was two books in one and i just couldnt stop reading it. both of them had me on the edge of my seat and i wish there was more to it. the second book is a continuation of the first. even if you don't like graphic romance novels, this one is a must.

This book includes Time Was and Times Change. Both stories about brothers who travel back in time, one by accident and the other on purpose. I enjoyed both stories and thought the couples in them were a good fit for each other. Both stories had a sweet romance and a nice bit of humour while the brother's try to fit into the past while not knowing how to work "old fashioned" appliances or understand the slang terms people use.

I had a good time with both these stories and thought the endings of bo...more

This book is taking me a loong time to read. (1) It's not one of her best books, and (2) it's kind of science-fiction-y, which also is not my thing. I've got a whole heap of exciting books waiting for me, but first I must finish this one...I'm hoping to do so today, either "at lunch" or at the gym. We shall see.

This book was just cute...nothing special. It felt to me like this story has been told too many times. However the imagery was fantastic although I would have much prefered for Caleb to be from the past rather than the future as i believe it would have added intricacy to the book. Its an ok read overall.

Seductively sexy, the two brothers from another time and universe are bound to get the taste buds sizzling! The two sisters are also not too shabby themselves and effectively show the two handsome brothers that love was meant to last a lifetime, in their case, over three hundred years apart!
Miranda Heath
I really cannot explain to anyone why I picked this one up. I was feeling particularly depressed and was simply abhorring the world when I saw the eye-catching cover. I read the back and it seemed fairly interesting. A well formed plot, an enhanced vocabulary, were just a few things.

Nora Roberts is addicting. Her stories are simple and a bit predictable, but being the hopeless romantic that I am, I just can't resist a good love story! There are 2 books in 1 with this one: Time Was and Times Change. Loved them both!

Definately not one of my favorites by Nora Roberts. I found it difficult for me to get into it, and the signature character developement I usually adore in her books just wasn't there. Very disapointing for me :(

I'm sort of embarrassed to add this to my list of books. Nora Roberts is typically good for a mindless read but I'm pretty sure she doesn't have - or maybe shouldn't - have license to write about time travel...

This was 2 books in one. Time Was & Time Change. It's the story of 2 sisters and 2 brothers and the brothers are from the future. It was pretty cheesy and predictable but had interesting things though.

I didn't think I would like this one at first had a hard time getting into it in the first 2 chapters but it was actually really good. The second half of the book was expected but still good.
