Stephanie Plum - bounty hunter, Jersey Girl... Walking disaster...
Morelli, Ranger, and "His Merry Men" are all once again trying to keep Stephanie safe. After hunting down a Visa skip, Stephanie becomes the target of a psychopathic (or is it psychotic?)cyber geek. The game is on and Stephanie is the prize. He is hunting her down and takes two of the people closest to her as hostages. She has to outwit him in order to save them all. Let me just tell you - the hostage thing had...more

Plum fans
In the ninth book of the series, Stephanie Plum is after Samuel Singh, a Indian man living and working in Jersey on a visa bond. He seems to have gone missing, only a week before he is scheduled to return home. Not that this is unusual, as his boss explains; many of the foreign temporary workers that he hires get a taste of the American life, and want to stick around. But then there are the flowers that get delivered to Stephanie, with the not-so-sweet notes. And the photographs of dead people! ...more

Stephanie Plum's got rent to pay, people shooting at her, and psychos wanting her dead every day of the week (much to the dismay of her mother, her family, the men in her life, the guy who slices meat at the deli... oh, the list goes on). An ordinary person would cave under the pressure.
But hey, she's from Jersey.

This one was sort of weird. I liked what was going on in Stephanie's personal life, she is back with Morelli, after being split up in the last book. She had spent some time with Ranger in the last one. I like Ranger and I can see why Stephanie likes him too, but Morelli is better for her. I like her with him. Now Morelli and Ranger have this weird thing going on between them. They can work together, sort of stick together because it is obvious that they both care for Stephanie, but they have som...more

Fiction/Stephanie Plum Mystery. Dude! I liked this one! Stephanie's been tasked with finding Samuel Singh, an Indian citizen who's in the U.S. on a work visa. Vinnie wrote a bond ensuring that Singh would leave the country when his visa was up, but now Singh's missing and it's up to Stephanie (and Ranger, but let's be honest, mostly Ranger) to find him.
There's lots of Morelli and Ranger in this one, and just the bare minimum of incompetence. Stephanie's back at Morelli's house; her si...more

Arguably the funniest Stephanie Plum book yet. I don't know how Evanovich does it, but readers see various common themes through each book -- but she manages to put a different spin on them every time. Of course Stephanie is confronted with a dead body. Of course she's torn between the equally hunky Joe Morelli and Ranger. Of course she has family problems to deal with, racheted up another notch with her sister's pregnancy. No cars are destroyed in this one, but poor Ranger must be glad to have ...more

Hilarious!!! I love the main characters: Stephanie, the just-okay bounty hunter; mysterious and super hot Ranger, the professional bounty hunter, Stephanie's some-time partner and one-time lover; Lula, the former "ho" turned bounty hunter (she still dresses like a ho and eats three pounds of bacon in one sitting while trying the Atkins diet); sexy Joe Morelli, Stephanie's on-again, off-again lover, and Jersey cop; Stephanie's horny Grandma Mazur, who lives with Stephanie's parents, l...more

Although I had pretty much guessed the outcome of this book early on, it was still a great read. Any time the love triangle between Stephanie, Morelli and Ranger is focused on I am in heaven. And the more danger Stephanie is in, the better those tensions get. Plus this book had the added bonus of a trip to Vegas, which was fun to read about since I live there. Although there were no cars damaged by Steph's bad luck, Ranger's crew getting banged up by her natural ability to be in the middle o...more

Okay; while I understand that this series is 'character' driven, *some* mystery/suspense in the plotline is still welcome. (Was it just ME, or did everybody identify the 'killer', practically from his introduction?!) There wer...more

Stephanie Plum may not the best bounty hunter in beautiful downtown Trenton, but she's pretty darn good at turning bad situations her way... and she always gets her man. In TO THE NINES her cousin Vinnie (who's also her boss) has posted bail on Samuel Singh, an illegal immigrant. When the elusive Mr. Singh goes missing, Stephanie is on the case. But what she uncovers is far more sinister than anyone imagines and leads to a group of killers who give new meaning to the word "hunter..."

Okay, I LOVE Janet Evanovich, but this was by far my least favorite of all the Stephanie Plum mysteries. It seemed like there wasn't a plan on how to tie it all together and she got to the end and was like "oh yeah, I have to figure out a way to end it now". The pieces of the puzzle just didn't fit for me. On the up side it was nice to have Joe back after being practically none existent in Hard Eight:) Oh, and the fighting scene with Lula and Mrs. Asjuneas was great.

TO THE NINES – VG
Janet Evanovich – 9th in series
Cousin Vinnie has posted bail on Samuel Singh, who is now missing. In assigning Stephanie to bring him in, she uncovers a group of killers who hunt their prey, and she is on their list.
While this has it’s usual wonderful cast of characters, trademark humor and occasional slapstick moments, it’s a more substantial mystery than some and Stephanie holds her own, more so than in the past.

Anyone looking for a good quick read
I really enjoyed this book. I read it in 2 days which shows that I just couldn't put it down. It was so easy to fall in love with Stephanie who I appreciated as not being one of those girls who has it all together. I liked that she was able to capture the bad guy with a little luck and the help of her entourage of colorful characters. I can't wait to read my next Stephanie Plum novel. I'm hooked.--Thanks Rebecca for the recommendation.

This whole series is a hoot! Although it may help if you grew up near Trenton, Nj-the armpit of the nation. Funny characters Stepahnie Plum bounty hunter, Lula the forner "ho" Grandma Mazur-thank God none of us has a grandma like this one-she LOVES to go to funerals, MOrelli the cop, and mysterious, sexy Ranger. Funny, Funny. I've read the entire series. Just finished #12. Good for a beach or when you just want to be light.

Int his one she goes up against people that kill each other for a computer game. It was a little obvious who the Web Master is. Again she had some really funny stuff in there. I really liked it when the body gaurd Ranger gives her gets soaked when her sister Valerie's water breaks. Then the big guy passes out, he couldn't handle ssing a woman give birth. It was kinda nasty but still funny when you picture it.

I really enjoyed this book. It was LOL funny in some places, and a decent mystery. No hot and heavy sex, just how I like to read them. A fun book. This is my first Stephanie Plumb numbers book. I read Visions of Sugar Plumbs as my first Stephanie Plumb book, and that one was hysterical. So I started the first number book I had. Good stuff. Grandma is my fave character. Way too funny.

Basic storyline: Stephanie Plum is after Samuel Singh, a Indian man living/working in Jersey on a visa bond. But he goes missing just before his bond is up and Stephanie has to hunt him down. Stephanie is back with Morelli for this installment, though Ranger is very near too. Bonus: this book had the added bonus of a trip to Vegas, which was fun diversion.

All of her books are incredibly, side-splitting, laugh out loud funny. They are filled with interesting and odd characters and the on-going romance between Morelli and Stephanie is interesting. I always picture Sandra Bullock in the role of Stephanie if this were to be made into a movie. Great books! Great series! And, of course, I LOVE her grandma.

I sit on the train reading the Stephanie Plum series and will laugh. Everyone laughs at me and knows I'm reading these books. Again - she writes Stephanie in situations that make you shake your head and wish you had that much excitement in your life (less the danger of course). I want to be a bounty hunter !!!
