Aphra Connolly’s life can never be normal again, not since she discovered the true nature of her mother’s work and unwittingly landed herself on the hit list of a very dangerous man known as The Mold. So, she and her mom have been flying under the radar and hiding out in France, but despite their careful precautions, they are still not safe. When they discover they’re being followed, they’re on the run once more, but they don’t get very far once Aphra’s mother’s Parisian contact is found drowned...more

The third book, (the last in the series?). You know how most series get boring and messy in the end? Not this one. This was a great series from beginning to end, the amount of suspense just increased by ever book. I lived along with the main characters Aphra and Seth, feeling all the emotion and pain that they had gone through. Not only was the series unique, but they also had a strong sense of reality to them. Even though all the things that happened in the book were extreme for real life, they...more

If you like action, thriller, or spy novels you will really like Death by Denim. The characters and plot were really thought out and it was a great end to the Death by Mystery series. The high action plot gives a magnificient ending to the series. Aphra's personality and determination are a huge factor in the plot. She goes after the Mole (someone who has been targeting and trying to ruin her family's lives for years) to try to end the pain and hiding he has put her family through for years. She...more

I don't usually read the kind of books that reviewers classify as "Chick Lit" but this series astounded me in how interesting, action-packed, and fun Chick Lit could be!

Aphra Connelly is now officially on the run with her mother, and suddenly she understands who exactly it is she's up against.

A quick, exciting read Death by Denim picks up a few months after where the previous book left off and kept all of the surviving characters in the game.

I love how the author can make you think you've pred...more

I always had problems with the fact that the titles of these books were so loosely connected. The title for this book related to the plotline a lot more regardless if the reader really caught on or not.

Aphra is on the run. Well, sort of. The Mole is searching for them. She's gone incognito with her mother in France under a different name. Their cover is blown and they have to flee France and go to Natalie's contact. Natalie's contact comes up dead, gagged by strips of denim. The denim came from...more

In this third (and final?) installment of the Death by... series, Aphra is once again in danger, only this time, she gets to jetset around France and Italy. Not that she can really enjoy it when she is being used as a pawn in a life-threatening game...

I enjoyed both previous books in this series, so I was very much looking forward to joining Aphra on her latest high-stakes adventure.

The action has really been pumped up this time around. In fact, the pace is so breakneck that the book is over be...more

Ack! A new review from the Maelstrom. See it here:

I don’t think that I will ever get tired of this series. So forgive me for sounding a little bit repetitive as I review the third title in the Death By books.

Aphra is back. Erm… Again. And hiding out in France with fake papers. Seth Mulo, her secret lurrrver, is off and away at a separate, mysterious location. All is well aside from their being apart. Until Aphra and Natalie (A...more

Death By denim is the 3rd and final book of the trilogy death by.....
Aphra is the main girl in this book, she's got the brains and the heart to go along with her mothers CIA agency. Seth is once again brought up the connection between him and Aphra is even more powerful. Seth and Aphra have done a lot to help Natalie, Aphras mom to help get rid of "the mole" they call him. Finally the mole is dead and all of the Seth's family the Mulos and Aphra and her mom a...more

A so-so end to an excellent series. I was expecting a little more from "Death by Denim," considering that it was supposed to be the thrilling end to the exciting Death by... series. This final installment was lack-luster and kind of boring. Not to say that there was a lack of action, but rather, the action was predictable (for the most part) and very anti-climactic. I was really hoping for a much more creative and intriguing resolution to the three-book long battle against the mole, i was extrme...more

I loved this series! It’s a shame it’s not very popular because Linda’s writing is beautiful and the storyline was lovely. Her characters were wicked, and they all had such an important role to the story.
It annoys me when I read a book and there is no thought put into the characters names what so ever. This series had reason behind the names, and they were unique and different. I could tell how much effort was put into the making of this book. For instance, Linda decided to name the main charac...more

Thinking that they were finally starting over, turns out that Aphra and her mother were wrong. They arrive in France, thinking that they were safe from the Mole, an evil leader. However, knowing that the Mulo's family was far from safety, Aphra and her mother risk their lives trying to destroy the Mole.

Since this is the third sequel to Death by Bikini, a lot has happened since the first book. But rest is assured, in the end, The Mole dies.

This book kind of reminded me of the Callagher Girls ser...more

My thoughts...Wow, this was a fast-paced novel. I could not put it down because the action did not stop, at all. For me, this was a refreshing change. There were no vampires, no werewolves, no supernatural creatures, just bad guys, with guns and bombs. The main characters are in hiding until they realize that they are being hunted by a very dangerous criminal. They don't know who to trust, or if their actions will endanger their friends and loved ones. Gerber left me on the edge of my seat, afra...more

Mystery book
There are 211 pages in this book.

This book is called "Death By Denim." It is filled with action and adventure! The main characters are Aphra, Aphra's mother, Leveque, and the Mole. In this book Aphra and her mom are hiding from the CIA and Mole. This is because they were trying to help protect the Mulo's, who were involved in a crime that they should not have been blamed for. The Mulo's later break out of jail and are now wanted by the CIA and Mole. Aph...more

I didn't realize this book was part of a series, so I just read it by itself. It gives enough background information that you understand what's going on, but I assume the action and the characters would be more meaningful having read the first two books (Death by Bikini and Death by Latte). I picked it up because I realized it was set in France. I did enjoy the French phrases, and later on the Italian that were thrown in. Overall, a beach read kind of book. Quick and pleasing enough, but probabl...more

Death by Denim is the perfect finale for a great mystery-romance-thriller series. Now in Paris, Aphra and her mother are still running from the bad guys. When she finds out that her location has been discovered, the chasing begins again.

Aphra is definitely the main character in this book. She is a grown up lady, brave and tough. A young agent (without being one officialy) who will try to bring down the evil man and his organi...more

The last book of the "Death By series":
In this book Aphra experiences having to learn a whole new language and move to a totally different country with her mom, where they think that they are safe.. This book may be good for someone who has experienced having to stay away from the one you love the most, for your own good (as did Aphra). Also for someone who loves a mystery story, with deaths, romance, and action with tons of suspenseful moments.
As I have stated before in my other reviews of t...more

Aphra Connolly is being chased again. Except now she is hiding out in Paris with her mom. But while Aphra's mom is trying to teach her tricks on how to stay alive and most importantly keep out of trouble. Aphra isn't too interested in that though, all she can think about is Seth and how much she wished that she knew where he was. But sooner, instead if later Aphra's moms tricks seem very handy when Aphra and Natalie discover a contact floating in a river with denim gags and binds. Now once Aphr...more

Okay, so you should read DEATH BY BIKINI and DEATH BY LATTE first. It is a mystery series and this is the one that reveals the Mole's identity. In Paris!

But seriously, this series is cheap and pocket-sized. You can toss all three in most purses and have something to read in the bus/car/plane. And believe me, these books will make the trip far more exciting. (Especially if you're driving through Kansas, Nebraska, Iowa, and South Dakota. If you live in those states, please tell me what you do for...more

I'm very partial to mysteries and there are too few new YA mystery series. But let me tell ya, Linda Gerber's "Death By" series is everything that I love in a YA mystery! This is the third title in the series and it takes place in Paris where Aphra and her mother's cover have been blown and moves on to Italy. I found myself holding my breath as I turned the pages while Aphra tried to escape the bad guys and find her boyfriend too. I want more, more, more, please!

Note that I am trying my best not to give spoilers for all three books.

Characters: From the beginning of this series I have loved Aphra and Seth's characters. Meeting the new characters that were introduced in this one was also nice. They were described nicely and I got a real good taste of what they were like early on.

Plot: The plot of the Death By... series is very original, and that's why I like them so much. Gerber does a really nice job with mixing the action filled mystery part of the stor...more

This is the third book to Death by Bikini. Once again the cover looks more mature then the book. I just skimmed this one to make sure it was ok for my kids. It is a good book for middle schoolers. I gave it to my 5th grader to read. It is clean and cute but a little immature for adults in my opinion.

This series is all action, with little to no character, setting, or modd development. So the fast pace is great, but I struggle to care at all about any of the characters. The titles and premise are cute and interesting, but the endings are always quick and leave me wanting more explanation and closure. Good for a quick teen mystery read with action, but no gory violence, romance, but no explicit sex.

Alpha and her mother headed off again, trying to gain ground on the people who are out to get them. They land in Paris, France and it seems that, after several months, they’ve lost them entirely. They are so wrong. Her mom’s contact has turned up dead in the Seine with a deadly message gagged in his mouth. Alpha figures the only way to end all this is to end it herself. She doesn’t realize the trouble she has gotten herself into.

This was a great ending to this tril...more

I'm not sure why I didn't like this one as much as the first two. I think I got tired of Aphra being stupid and I just wanted her to make good decisions. I must be getting too old to sympathize with the impulsiveness of youth. Still, it was a fun read and a quick one.

Another exciting and stimulating installment of the Death by... series! These novels are jam packed and quick paced! I think that is why I find them so enjoyable.

I think this was my favorite novel of the series! This installment has even more action than the others, if that’s even possible. Gerber was able to keep her signature style fresh and unpredictable as always!

There are a few steamy scenes between Aphra and Seth... well one scene in particular really stands out. I can only image in would...more
