And for Lara Lewis, it is the place where she and her husband once experienced love at its best. Now it is a place where forty-something Lara believes she can rekindle her marriage.

(view spoiler) Senti q

This book was just ok. It started out really good and then just dropped off. The whole middle section was the same thing over and over again. I actually skipped a lot in the middle just to get to the end to find out what happened. It seems like there's a reocuring theme in these books I read. Woman gets wronged by a man and goes on journey of self-discovery.

I wish I could do half-stars on the rating, because I would go 2.5 rather than a plain 2. I liked the beginning, became weary towards the middle, wanted to stop towards the end of the middle, and finally reconciled in the end.
As it stands, it is a meaningful love story, one that will make you smile as you root for Lara Lewis, the main character with the ailing heart, to find love and, in doing so, herself. I've never been one to be a cynic, but at times the novel was too cheesy and not at all re

O do amor instantâneo .

This book focuses on a forty-five year old woman, who plans a second honeymoon for herself and her husband, their 25th. This is to take place in France, and already I am sold. It turns out her surgeon husband's "business" trip/affair is going to keep him away from being able to make it to France with Lara. Lara in turn meets Dan, and invites him along without telling him it was to be her second honeymoon. Oops. Adler takes you through France, the scenery, the food, the smells, the people. It is ...more

Elizabeth Adler has to be one of my favourite authors after stumbling across her novel One of Those Malibu Nights and falling in love with her style. The Last Time I Saw Paris had been on my reading list for a while before I managed to get hold of it and read it.

Lara Lewis a 45 year old stay at home wife has spent all her time for the past couple of months planning a second honeymoon for her 25th wedding anniversary with her husband Bill. Bill, however does not seem very interested and eventual

Gosto desta autora pelos seus livros descontraídos, com romances fofinhos - enfim, chick-lit and i am not ashamed!

When 45-year-old Lara’s painstaking plans for a second honeymoon touring France is scuppered by her eminent surgeon husband, Bill, she’s quite naturally a bit miffed. The fact that said husband cancelled so he can go on a business trip with a young female colleague fuels her anger and so she decides to go alone.

Enter dishy 30-something builder, Dan, who Lara falls for when he works on repairing her ‘deck’, and you have the beginnings of a fine romance. You sort of know she’s in for trouble when

The Last Time I Saw Paris by Elizabeth Adler

As an avid fan of Elizabeth Adler, I began this paperback with a sense of expectation of another fine plot. But throughout the book until its ending, my attention was focused toward gender differences.

The morning Lara Lewis turns 45, her prominent San Francisco surgeon husband departs for Beijing with his quite attractive and much younger pediatrician assistant. Lara has planned a second honeymoon to France retracing the footsteps of her first, about

I’ve never heard about Elizabeth Adler before I picked up this book, I probably came across some of her novels on my introspections into the library, but if I had no idea who she really was till now then it probably didn’t immediately catch my attention. Ironically, The Last Time I Saw Paris was my book of discovery and I liked what I found. This is plain chick lit, which is a genre I like, but only on the right mood. I guess I was into it, because I really found myself absorbed by Lara Lewis ...more

Very disappointing. This could have been a great book. Mid-life mom finds new romance. Revisiting her Paris honeymoon could have been a cool idea and a great way to juxtapose the relationship between her still current but fading husband and her new lover. However: 1) Elizabeth Adler's writing is not yet at a level where I consider it publishable. Very hard to get into the story, as she just doesn't know how to captivate a reader and move the book along. 2) The main character and her new lover ...more

My first Elizabeth Adler book, I saw her latest book in People magazine and it sounded like a fun beach read.
I loved this book, as it took me to France, and I loved all the descriptions and of course, how it was not a perfect trip for the main character, like we've all had, bad travel experiences, so this book was very real, but how fun to have the money to buy all the outfits that Lara was able too, (being married to a world famous surgeon helps) this book was pure fantasy, a wonderful escape!
