I love Dover Thrift editions, so that made reading Favorite Poems of Childhood a real pleasure. I should say a double pleasure, though, because it was a collection of poetry, so that made reading it an inherently pleasurable experience.

Has 2 of my favorite poems ("My Shadow" & "Who Has Seen the Wind?") as well as some childhood favorites and new ones.

"Who Has Seen the Wind?"
Who has seen the wind?
Neither I nor you:
But when the leaves hang trembling
The wind is passing thro'.

Who has seen the wind?
Neither you nor I:
But when the trees bow down their heads
The wind is passing by.

We finally made it through this! We read a few poems once a week so it took us a while. The boys liked some, didn't understand some, sometimes asked for more and other times told me to end it all early. This is a nice collection with simple drawings here and there. It's a nice collection to have in the house.

interesting collection of poems. Some were fun, other odd and difficult to understand even for me. But overall, a good way to introduce a child to poetry. But overall, a good way to introduce a child to poetry. We read a few poems each week throughout the school year.
