Michael Davitt (1950 - 2005) was an Irish writer and editor. He wrote predominantly in Irish, although he was not a native speaker. After graduating from University College Cork (UCC) with a BA in Celtic studies, he moved to Dublin where he worked for Gael Linn, an Irish-language cultural organization, and Irish national television station RTÉ.
