Pros:
o Good info on Day of the Dead with lots of photo examples
o Large number and wide variety of crafts.
Cons:
o Most of the photos are from a U.S. festival, which makes one wonder if the examples are authentic or Americanized
o Project instructions are sometimes bare-bones (sorry!), forcing you to find other sources for more advanced information.
Who It's Good For:
o Anyone who wants an approachable introduction to the Day of the Dead holiday an...more

Great starting point for making Day of the Dead decorations. There are many neat ideas and pictures included in the book. It really helped me imagine how I could interpolate elements of Day of the Dead celebrations into my home. However, the content does seem a bit sanitized and it's unclear how authentic the projects are to Mexican culture as another reviewer mentioned.
Some good ideas, projects, and lots of good information on the culture and art surrounding this Holiday. Some of the examples seem poorly chosen to reflect the quality and divesity of Chicano art that is actually out there, but is still a good idea book.
There was a certain sameness to these projects. Also, they struck me as pretty US-centric. The photography was just okay, not stellar. There were some fun and clever things here, don't get me wrong, but it wasn't as cool as I expected it to be.
One of the most unique and beautifully illustracted craft books ever produced. And I would say that even if the author wasn't my daughter, Kerry Arquette.
Fun and interesting Day of the Dead crafts; I appreciated learning a little more about the holiday and getting some good craft ideas.
