As a post grad student in Medical Faculty, majoring in Pharmacology, it's actually A MUST to read this super thick book. The English used in it was not too technical, so it's actually a good thing if you're a freshmen in Med School.
All in all this book is a definite must have for any medical student out there

There are few technical books that remain in a leadership position for 65 years. The Pharmacological Basis of Therapeutics is one. Physicians, teachers, and medical students have voted for Goodman & Gilman with their feet and with their pocketbooks for over six decades.

Possibly the most comprehensive book on pharmaceutics ever compiled. Absolutely boring :)
