WARNING: this is not a spoiler but if you read this, make sure you get the sequel, where the HEA happens.

3.5 stars.

It's what I'd called a guilty pleasure read. I knew it's going to be over the top and not exactly convincing characterisation, but DJ Manly can write hot sex scenes and he/she knows how to keep readers engaged, even though the writing quality is not always consistent and badly needed an extra editor.

Despite being my guilty pleasure, it's a very angsty story. And one that I cannot

When I bought this ebook earlier this night, I didn't either look at the lenght, it was by D.J. Manly, an author I like very much, and he is in my to buy list automatically. But well, when I set down to read it and opened the file... 400 pages and more!!! it's one of my nightmare, begin a book so long by night knowing that it will sure end in two ways: or I like it and after 200 pages or less I will need to close it to sleep and I will finish the book the day after, or I love it and I will finis ...more

This book's an amazing read! The intrigue kept me reading it start to finish without putting it down. Of course, the romance was exceptional - well written man love with the perfect touch of eroticism. I think DJ Manly's expertise in writing the human heart, and all it entangles, really shines in this book.

I haven't taken an emotional roller coaster ride like that for quite some time and I don't usually cry when I read (at least not often) but I did get teary-eyed near the end of this novel. DJ Manly delivered a captivating story. Very touching. I honestly loved it.

Shelves: m-m-fiction, meh
few editing flaws- i understand that 'goodbye' in italian sounds similar to 'chow', but really? not how you spell it.
also, i know this is a stupid thing to bother me, but i'd be absolutely intrigued to watch somebody dismount a horse while their hands are on somebody else's shoulders.

Shelves: mm, touch-of-romance
I was so happy to find a long ebook AND a gay one (my current reading phase) so I took a peek at the ending. It's open-ended so that really deflated my excitement. I'm finicky about my romances - they must have a closed HEA or a HFN.

I write not only for my own pleasure, but for the pleasure of my readers. I can’t remember a time in my life when I haven’t written and told stories. When I’m not writing, I’m dreaming about writing, doing something wild and adventurous, or trying to make the world a better and more open minded place to live in. I adore beautiful men, and I know I’m not alone in this! Eroticism between consenting ...more
