The protagonist of Dancing with Myself has a problem common to would-be or soon-to-be lovers: stomach cramps, “butterflies.” Why this may seem interesting is that, in the context of the sonnet sequence, the protagonist’s butterflies confirm that he is not as old, weathered, and eternally resigned as he might appear to himself to be. A strong new collection plumbing the depths of sexuality, love, loss, ontology/phenomenology, loneliness, and keeping youthful hopes alive as one ages. When You Bit... features many of what are becoming Fieled's poetic touchstones: melopoeiac verve, wordplay, and syntactical variation that make the book read easily, belying the complexity of themes dealt with both poem by poem and in total.

If you want a really good laugh, remember, while reading this awful book, that the author claims to believe all poetry written since Eliot's Four Quartets is shit. He's cast his lot with so-called "high art" (the "high art" word for shit is "dross" btw)... and this exercise in banality is the product.
