It was bad. I didn't like it.

This book was supposed to be about erotic submission...but it was plain boring. Looking back I do wonder if there is a little masochist in me because that's the only way to explain why I read it. But I hoped the next story would prove me wrong. And the next...but no. Trust your gut Mrs. Rhaw!

First story: Adam is described as "A Dominant through and through." who has "certainty in his voice" , looks like fallen angel...blah blah
But this Master who should teach Skye to become submissive or let the whole idea be, doesn't have himself under control save the girl who thinks she'll meet THAT Dom who would help her figure out why she's turned on by "wicked things she had only ever imagined in the darkest corners of her mind." rating: YAWN
Second story: 8 years ago they were a couple. And then she left him, fearing if she confessed that she was interested into BDSM he might thing she were crazy. So what's the best solution: hit and run. And suddenly he's back and he's lying naked in her bed! How on earth did he get into her house after all those years. Carrying a spare key in spite of his reckless life (because this is how he tried to forget her)? C'mon! I'd be freaked out if I found a naked man in my bed, no matter if ex lover or not. No matter if I craved him still. No matter how hot!
oh this was the worst:
"No, you will stay right here as I command!" no buddy I won't because I felt nothing reading it. There is nothing commanding in your voice, you actually annoy me big time.
And she? She succumbed because she called him Master. Seriously??? She's the one with BDSM fantasies. Her bedroom hides a bag with toys and books. She wanted to be submissive, she left him because of that!! *hitting my head on the wall*
Third story. was a tiny bit better. I was able to feel some sparks, some excitement building. But still: should we believe that a 21 year old knows what's she's doing wanting to be his slave for ever? Just because she was ear dropping on him and her brother and got turned on about the whole master/slave idea when she was 17...

But maybe my recent books on BDSM spoiled me big time: Masters of the Shadowlands. Cherise Sinclair knows what she's writing about. And she writes dam good! Not even a novice like me finds all that boring and not trustworthy. Because TRUST is a very big issue in BDSM!

The first story, "Breaking Skye" by Eden Bradley, is about a young woman called Skye who posts an ad looking for a dominant man to introduce her to the world of BDSM. She meets Adam Dunne, a dark, handsome and charismatic man who instantly captures her imagination.
