I picked this book up at a book event, where the author was promoting and signing it, but hadn't gotten around to reading it. The cover blurbs somehow didn't grab me.
Once I finally picked it up, I found it to be a pretty good book of the "hunt down the bad guys at all cost" genre.
While the anti-terrorist plot was nothing special, the relationships between the central characters were pretty interesting. I found certain plot elements hard to believe, like a 3rd-generation FBI More...

The main character is Nathan McBride, former CIA agent. Throughout most of the novel, he is accompanied by his long time friend. McBride has a never take no for an answer personality. he has no problem catching criminals and getting info out of them, even though his methods maybe a little violent. Although he is retired, Nathan takes a job whenever one happens to come his way. his partner is never far behind either.

in this novel, vengeful criminals are on the loose and Nathan has bee More...

Actually I just picked up the First to Kill Audiobook through the audible.com deal, and I really like it, and it's unabridged, so I guess that kind of counts. It is fast-paced and a fun thriller adventure that takes me into someone else's larger than life world. I want to crawl around in Gillie suits now and learn to shoot like a sniper! I hope he continues the Nathan character.

The only downside is that I end up having to recharge my ipod at the most exciting points!

I would classify this book as only pretty good. It is a pale imitation of the "Jack Reacher" series by Lee Child. Nathan McBride is the resident tough guy with his sidekick Harvey. The are retired Marine Snipers who now own a security company. They are called in as a favor to help the FBI bring down a pair of really bad brothers. It is a typical cloak and dagger story, and the plot is interesting enough. However, I thought the dialogue was corny a lot of the time, and there was a More...

Excellent, very easy read. i couldn't put it down.
Nathan and Harvey make one hell of a team. From the investigation to the takedown this one leaves you wanting more. I was disappointed to get to the last few chapters. I'll be waiting in line for the next installment!

Not usually my cup of tea, but this was an exciting, fast-paced story that read like an action movie. Makes a nice little break between my serious, classical literature reads... I definitely liked Nathan McBride, the protagonist, and this sets up more thrillers to come. I think I'd be likely to read more from this debut author.

Good action, lots of things going but still good plot. I like action/adventure books and movies. But this one a really held my interest. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a good escapist literature.

I liked this book but I think it would have been better if it left off the romance part. It didn't add anything and it just irritated me. The women were all weak, most were "escorts" or helpless. A few were helpless escorts.

Not bad for a first effort. Fast moving. It's too bad the follow-up novel is available only (at this time, anyway) as an audio book.

I used to like this type of book, but I just couldn't get into it this time (despite good reviews and a recommendation from a friend).

This was a really great book, and I will be reading more by this author if they are all like this. I loved the bond between Harvy and Nathan, they are and amazing team! And I love their morals...just a great book!

I like thrillers, and I liked this book. I thought the plot had enough twists and turns to keep me interested, and I really liked that the author gave his female characters a lot of spunk, backbone, and experience. If you can't stand violence, don't read it. Otherwise, I highly recommend it.

I liked this book. I would call this a guy's beach read that even a girl could love. Fun, fast paced roller coaster ride with two snipers going after the bad guy.
