This is really a little more like 3.75 Stars for me, but I'll go ahead and bump it up to 4. I was really looking forward to this book, I wanted to see what it took to finally get Olivia wrapped in the bonds of love and all that. This third book in the series was good, but I just didn't find myself liking at much as I liked the other two. In this book, it's been about a year and half since the events in the second story. Olivia and her father, and Phoebe are now living on the Isle of Wight, with...more

I liked the book on its' face but the ending was atypical of this author and completely unbelievable. A shy aristocrats' daughter who stutters falls for the pirate who nursed her after she fell and was injured. She almost instantly falls into his bed which was unbelievable in and of itself. That he is trying to free King Charles I during the British civil war in 1640's when her father was a strong parlementerian is the first plotline. That her stepbrother who was previously thought to be killed...more

When I was given this book the front cover led me to believe that it was set in the present day, the dress not looking to be accurate to a period piece. Pleasantly surprised to discover that the book was set during the seventeenth century. That being said, the volume proved to be better than I expected. Surprisingly interesting and coherent for a novel of its genre. Had not intended to seek out other works by Ms. Feather prior to reading, but may be tempted if ever in need of a novel to occupy s...more

I don’t typically read romance novels. I’m not a romance novel kind of woman but I did read this one on the recommendation of a friend and I actually enjoyed it very much.

The book opens with Olivia, Portia, and Phoebe (three young girls) meeting and all vowing to never marry. The all swear to live as single women who forever follow their hearts and pursue their dreams and not become tied down by a man.

We all know what happens when we decide to make plans of our own. Enter…FATE.

One minute Lady Ol...more

If you've read Feather's "Bride" series to this point and have some guesses as to the history between Olivia and the evil Brian Morse, well, you will get to see in this one whether you guessed right.

Remember that Olivia swore that she would never marry? Well, it turns out she had good reason to feel that way. The "Brides" story takes a hard left with this one, veering into unexpected territory. Olivia is reading a book and walking (never a great combo--these days substitute texting) and she fal...more

Reading this book took me to a life of exciting piracy adventures and wonder. The characters were very intriguing and full of lots of likeable qualities.

Olivia is a shy girl who has sworn that she would never marry. She enjoys a close friendship with Phoebe and Portia who both have succumbed to marriage themselves. But Olivia vows that being a scholar and enjoying her art is all she desires.

But all her plans are thrown into turmoil when she meets the most handsome pirate and Captain of his own...more

This was the first actual romance novel I ever read. She's the least likely bride because she has a stutter, making her unmarriageable, but fortunately she's captured by a hot pirate. She's badly injured during her kidnapping, but that doesn't stop them from y'know, wink wink nudge nudge. And it's apparently consensual, despite the fact that they just met, and he kidnapped her. It's been a few years since I read it, but I remember enjoying it at the time, even while I laughed at some of the "ser...more

Another trilogy started at the end. I'm not sure I'll track down books one and two. I expected a few of the loose ends to be tied up differently, like with Anthony delivering both villians to Cato and getting validation for what he was doing. Something along the lines of ... "yes, I am the one trying to free the king, though not through belief, but I am not the one doing the wrecking." I also, somehow, expected Anthony's birthright to be turned over to him. That seems to be the way these should...more

Now that I have my second reserved-for-reviews thoughts it does remind me of the De Warenne series The Conqueror but only in a matter of historical similarities; not many books in that period of time. A good one, this. Made me curious about Portia's story and a little less, about Phoebe's.

This was cute. Crap history, of course, but a fun, Very lite read. I'll probably look for the other 2 in the trilogy eventually - fortunately, they stand alone, so it doesn't matter in the least that this was actually the final one. I'm not sure I'd bother with much of the author's other work - I've got a fairly short tolerance for romances, especially historical-fiction.

Well, I just finished it, but i can't say that i really liked it.
The story lone was nice, but not written very good.
The feelings between Olivia and Anthony weren't described very well, the love is there, but it is not described good enough.
And the end, it was one really boring end.
I don't know of this book deserves 2 or 3 stars, but I'm giving it 3.

The quintessential aristocrat's daughter meets and falls in love with the only "good" pirate on the seven seas. :) This book is the very definition of a romance novel. The forbidden love, change of hearts, sexual descriptions that go beyond innuendo.

A fun read that I enjoyed every minute of.

I liked this one partially. There are lots of exciting twists may be.. but did not push my interest beyond a minimum level.

Cant say that it wasnt an interesting book .. but it wasnt the best

I liked the plot and the writing was great but there are times where i thought that it was unrealistic .. like the first fight that Olivia experienced in the Pirate ship, instead of being realistically worried she was excited which is something I couldnt see happening

the ending was a huge surprise as to how their relationship stopped at, it was unexpected yet interesting .i dont want to give away too many spoiler for those who...more

the best of the series, by far.

I don't usually read fluff books, much less romance novels; but, I couldn't pass up this one! Girl falls off cliff and wakes up naked on a pirate ship? Pirate captain is not only dashing and handsome, but reads Plato, plays chess, is an excellent artist and physician, and frees slaves? Perfect.

I absolutely loved this book. I found myself holding my breath at times and routing on the bad/good guys at other times. I thought I had the end figured out but found that the book ending wasn't as predictable as I thought. I am looking forward to reading the author's other books.
Whitney
I absolutely loved this book as well as the entire series! Such a good story!
