This is Book 2 in the “House of Pleasure” series. Okay, I’m going to stop and say this right now. Kate Pearce is my fav historical erotica novelist. No doubt about it. This series of hers has really knocked me over.
Book 1 (Simply Sexual) was outstanding, and you already know that if you read my review a few weeks ago. I loved the story of Val and Sara. Book 2 is about how Val’s friend and business partner, Peter, found his true love.

Great book; I loved it! It's a total sizzler and I would have given it five-stars if I hadn't been kind of annoyed by something near the end. But aside from that one thing, this was a really great erotic historical romance. Highly enjoyable.

This one had a little bit of everything you could possibly crave in an erotic novel...ménage, BDSM, anal play, love triangle...better yet what's it called when there are 2 couples with a single caught in the middle? There was even a little vanilla sex thrown in for good measure!

I know I've been dragging this one for a ridiculously long time. I blame it on the sex. No, the sex wasn't bad, it was just...plentiful. Everywhere, Every position, Every variation.
The story starts off with Peter Howard, the third wheel from the previous book, reeling from his BFF/lover's rejection. He shacks in with James, a gay Peer with darker tastes and a near virginal wife who wants a baby. Abigail, James's wife, has a loving friendship with her husband, but sex has always been a...more

In the first book, Simply Sexual I fell head over heals for Val and Peter. Sara was the perfect love for them. I am however, not all that happy with Simply Sinful.
I was thrilled with the relationship between Val, Sara, and Peter at the end of Simply Sexual. I thought they would have their own HEA. Even when I read the cover of Simply Sinful I never considered that they wouldn't. Val's attitude toward Peter really got on my last nerve. Even so, I figured it would resolve itself in a ...more

This erotic writing might cause readers to become hot, bothered and breathless.
REVIEWER’S OPINION:
This book is the sequel to Simply Sexual. Simply Sexual is the story about Val meeting and marrying Sara. Simply Sinful is about Peter and Abigail. I recommend reading Val’s story first and then Peter’s story soon after. I waited 30 days before reading Peter’s story and had some confusion trying to remember parts from the first book. For readers who liked the first book, this ...more

Surprisingly good historical romance with a heaping does of erotic content.
I say 'surprising' not because I expected it to be bad or anything. Indeed this is a brand new author to me so I really didn't have any expectations of the writing. But sometimes the marriage of traditional historical romance and erotica can be uneasy. In some cases the sex scenes just feel incredibly incongruous with the main story or sometimes it feels as if the author is trying too hard or sometimes the pro...more

I liked this book a lot, maybe slightly better than the first one because I liked Peter then and even more so now. I have to say Kate Pearce "Historical Erotica" is great, and I'm happy I found her. It seems some people weren't fond Abby but I did like her. I thought she and Peter made a good couple. I however was not entirely fond of James. I know there was a great deal of him in the story since he is married to Abby but I thought he wasn't as good to Peter or gave him what he needed ...more
I refrained from reading other reviews so as to form an unbiased opinion of my own. The description was quite misleading since there was no mention of M/M, there were a lot of those and only a few of the straight M/F coupling.
This is Peter's story and how he found a woman of his own. It's really through the most unusual circumstances. I'll get right to the point, I felt bad about Peter and Valentin's falling out, both of them have a problem in communication, must be because of their pr...more

This book is much better than the previous. Perhaps I didn't enjoy Valentin's hot-temper regardless that he is a beautiful man but Peter Howard, he is something. I loved and enjoyed every bits of this book. I started to like Peter for the very beginning his character being introduced. He's a man meant to be loved, to be desired and to be wanted. He is someone that makes you wanted him. He actually can make you wanted him.

Hmmm... I stumbled across this in the M/M/F menage "section" (I also explain this in my review of Simply Insatiable)... I thought that it was a little strange that the cover depicted a two person couple when it was in said menage list, but hey, I went with it. Low and behold, a wild adventure the that was nothing like I expected swept me up...

Peter Howard has little knowledge of his life before his imprisonment in a Turkish brothel as a sex slave. He is feeling empty and restless lately so when Lord James Beecham approaches him with an unusual offer he accepts. James was forced to marry Abigail when they were both in their teens and even though they are best friends their sex life is bad. James prefers men and knowing that Peter likes both men and women he asks him to tutor both of them in bed. The threesome find out the delights of ...more
For the second book in the House of Pleasure series - it was almost a 5 star book for me. Almost.
This one focused on Peter Howard, who we met in book 1. He was also a sex slave in a Turkish bordello, along with Lord Val (from the previous book). At the end of book 1, we see Peter, Val, and his wife Sara involved in occasional threesomes - and all parties are ok with that. While in the bordello, Val was often violent when he was forced to be with male customers, and many times, ...more

3.5 star rating. This was a very HOT book! I enjoy historical settings and this was great in that respect, however I found the storyline to be kind of dragging in points and for some reason I found Abby's naiveness to be quite laughable. Also, the ending wasn't quite what I expected it to be. As I said earlier, though, this is a very steamy read. And that alone earned two stars. I realize this was meant to erotica romance, but I am still trying to critique the best I can.
I wanted to enjoy this more than I did. I liked Peter, but found it harder to like her. Although I really liked her honesty, she was still a bit unemotional for me. I also didn't think there was enough time devoted to Peter and her. I found myself skipping several of the sex scenes. They just didn't grab me emotionally and started to get a bit boring. I liked the story, the plot, the ongoing relationship issues with his prior lovers, and the ending.
I enjoyed this read. Peter is a perfect example of a tortured soul who is redeemed through his relationships with others. It was great to see Sara and Valentin again. The story is again equal parts plot and hot action of all varieties, enough of both to be really enjoyable. I really like how Kate overlaps her stories so that you get an introduction to the characters of the next novel. This is an excellent read for anyone who wants a book full of action with a lot of character development.
Very unconventional characters and story. My problem is I don't like the hero and heroine as a couple. I think Peter has more chemistry with Sara who is the heroine in Book 1 and is now happily married (and pregnant). I don't feel the connection and the chemistry between Peter and Abby. And for them to suddenly fell in love is unrealistic because throughout the entire story, Peter came off as more gay than hetero.

I think I will a take break for this series :) This book certainly not a good end. At least for me :D I read because of my curiosity but... well, author have an overmuch imagination of certain things. Over and over again I roll my eyes absurdity of things she write :)I think this series book isn't my cup of tea but... hell, did I say I overmuch curious :) Maybe someday I continue to read.
I loved this book. Peter was just the right amount of both sexy and insecure. The love he felt for both James and Abby was palpable, and he was so vulnerable when it came to Valentin. I would have liked to have seen something more resolved between him, Val and Sara, but overall it was a great read. Touching and very, very sexy!
This was an interesting choice of book for me, an erotic romance that ended up not being as erotic as I'd hoped. The threesome was written pretty well, but the sex scenes themselves were pretty dry and quick, and didn't grab me with any real emotional content. I felt I'd read better erotic love scenes in the fanfic I've read.
I don't even know where to begin. I was disappointed with Val, Peter, and the whole book. I didn't mind James, but Abby kept getting on my last nerve. I kept hoping it would get better and it didn't. I couldn't even finish the book, and considering how much I liked the first one-is really sad.
I do like Kate Pearce. Her story lines are decent and the sex is delicious! This was a pretty good read, but I liked the first on better. Still, I am attached to the characters and will probably continue on with the series.
Another really nice installment in the Simply series with a non-traditional HEA ending. Still a really great story though and very hot.
Wonderful book! I enjoyed every bit of it. Great relationships between Abigail, James and Peter. Really good sex scenes. Definitely recommend this book for fans of historical erotica.
A great love story/regency/erotica. Good character development.
24hr read. Husband was grateful. Historical smut. All good.
Not a big fan of Peter.
