I read this book when I was in grade school and remember how much I enjoyed it. Throughout the last couple years I've thought about this book, but could never remember the name. Just recently I was going through my parent's basement and found a box of my old books. This one happened to be in it. I was excited to find it, because now I can give it to my daughter when she's old enough. It'll be so great to see her reading it.
This book literally scared the shizznuts out of me. The main character and I are both African American females. Just like me, she enjoys the performing arts and at the time I was reading this book I was in California..just like she was. Our personalities are soo alike this story was scary just reading it..
This is a book I liked but I would not say it was my favorite. I was interested in the book because i was interested in the performing arts part of the book. I liked how the book had a little romance in it. I feel like I could not really relate to the book. The thing I really look for in a book is if I can relate. Personally I couldn't relate to Violet. To me personally the book was not one of my favorites. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone else who is looking for a boon that can relate to them ...more
