3.5 stars — Overall, it was a cute little story!
I think my biggest issue with it was that I kept waiting for something big to happen—some big issue to arise that would act as the hurdle that Libby and Slater had to jump over to be together, you know? So something would happen, and I'd be like, "Oh, this is it!" but then it would be solved in a page-and-a-half... and that happened like 8 times! And then FINALLY one of the sort-of-ongoing issues came to a BIT of a head (with a mere 40 pages to go...more

Deputy Liberty Drake arrests Texas Ranger Slater Rawlings after he's caught with a gun in a saloon, which would be normal for the Old West, but apparently is against the law in the fictitious Shotgun, Texas. Slater is drawn to the homey little town and to its church, as well as to the feisty Liberty, who veers from being overly saccharine to being outright antagonistic. She does something to Slater's visiting brother, Dakota, towards the book's conclusion that made me want to slap some sense int...more
Once I could get past the sacharine sweetness of the all the characters and the constant bible thumping (which you wouldn't think would be a problem, but it was) I actually kind of enjoyed this book. No it's not the type of book I usually read (it was for book club), but I ended up finishing it all in one night (well except for the first 40 pages which took me over a week to get up the motivation to read). The story is very straight forward with no crazy twists and a predictable ending, but it i...more
This trilogy is about three brother who have become believers in the Lord Jesus Christ and how this believe changes their lives.
This book is about Slater Rawlings and Liberty Drake and how the Lord brings them together. Texas Ranger Slater Rawlings quits his job and end up in Shotgun where he is arrested by Deputy Liberty Drake. As Slater and Liberty struggle to understand their own feelings and find common ground in their beliefs, God's hand gently guides the way in this unpredictable, heartwa...more

Lori Wick is one of my fovorite Christian novelists. The seamless way she crafts her stories amaze me. Every Little Thing About You is no exception.
The story is set in Texas during the late 1800s and tells how two people meet in a small town and fall in love. The descriptions are rich in detail and the plot kept me turning the pages. When you read this book, look for the way Lori Wick portrays the way violence affects people.

The characters are unbelievable and certainly don't seem to fit Texas in the 1880s (did frontier women really have time to get together for a weekly Bible study?). And the message (the heroine gives up a job she loves, is good at and that serves the community, because her man doesn't approve) does not really reflect the MUTUAL submission the Bible calls for.
Probably about a 2.5
The plot was okay, but cheesy, and I just know that the next book is about Dakota, cause well, thats how the world of Christian fiction is, the non believing sibling is converted! (and oh, look Book 2 IS about Dakota) So yeah, overall pretty predictable, but sweet none the less and filled my quota of sappy for the month!

I love Lori Wick books. This series is about three brothers who come to Christ and the journey that belief takes them through. It is also a love story. Lori Wick is a Christian fiction romance writer and the people who are giving her bad reviews because of that should just stop reading her work - or better yet, keep reading and maybe you'll find your own way to Christ. I pray that is the case.

I truly LOVED this series. I actually took notes from it (from some of the pastor's sermons that are in the book). I learned a lot from them. Very entertaining as well!
