I liked reading about the different couples that the author worked with in his marriage counseling practice. It reminded me of the long-running "Can This Marriage Be Saved?" column in Ladies Home Journal magazine. However, I didn't feel like any of the situations in the book applied to me. I guess it is a case of "right book, wrong reader".

This book was not what I expected after hearing about it on "On Point," an NPR show. I hoped for some quanifiable evidence that married people live better, longer, fuller, etc. Rather, it was a collection of stories about baby-boomers considering divorce. A fine read, but not for thirty-somethings.

Well, I really did not learn much. Being that I am married 28 years and dating the same fellow for 31 years. So if you want some good advise give it a shot. I did not disagree with much. The trick is to apply the advise. In these hard times you really should think twice before amking any quick moves.
