This is more of a fun facts type of book than a detailed history of film. However it is fairly comprehensive and covers some obscure film movements, world and independent cinema. And it lays everything out in chronological order which I like. A good book to flick through now and again to discover a new director or film.
It was a really brief overview of film. Definitely could've used more detail. The brevity of the book tended to overlook a lot of (in my opinion) really important figures and movements in film. But it had a lot of nice pictures and some interesting facts here and there.
