Great read on details of Iraq and the events shaping and leading up to the invasion, although it was difficult at times to follow.

It covers the history of rules from Babylon to current Iraq, Iran-Iraq war and the Gulf War well. Author includes possibilities surrounding reasons the US's involvement in Iraq apart from the official ones given. Lots of details on Saddam Hussein's rule. Each chapter ends with a bullet point list as a summary.

One of my favorite books and a must read for anybody that wants to understand why the Middle East has always been so messed up and why American intervention hasn't done a thing to change the tide of violence and turmoil in this unique landscape.
